Is DeJuan Blair the guy with no meniscus? Or some other knee issue?

No ACLs ... like just gone from both knees.

Just because Blair can't tear his non-existent ACLs, and hasn't appeared to be be hobbled by them yet doesn't mean that he's not a liability in terms of health. Without the stability that the ACL provides, the chances of tearing your meniscus goes up quite a lot and as the miles pile up his chances of staying healthy get worse not better.

Now would I take a flier on him for a little over the veteran's minimum? Sure. But I wouldn't commit much more and I'd be leery of any kind of long-term deal.

well he is a UFA making only a mil this year, so risk is very low

If he is an UFA then I see no reason to trade for him. I guess that is what most teams are saying about JJ.....

I have no idea what they are, but I bet the % of players who are wanted back by the team they play on is higher than not. Maybe if Portland traded for Blair nad he worked out we would have a better chance of signing him this summer? Same with Hickson for other teams maybe? Just a guess though

I guess I don't understand. What would be the point of swapping Blair for Hickson if there is no intent of bringing Blair back or trying to retain him? Isn't it just simpler to ride out the string with JJ? Although I guess there is one advantage, Blair's cap-hold would be much lower ...

Was there a suggestion of swapping the two?

Oh if it's a Freeland for Blair swap then it's a no brainer; that would clear his guaranteed money off of our cap and open up an extra 2.9 million in cap space.

Blazers/Spurs trade right here.... I don't know why it's not working but it's Hickson and Claver for Blair and Green

Green is one of the last young guys they would deal. Him and Kawhi are probably the future.
