Were not going to make a blockbuster deal by the deadline. We have very few pieces worth trading and those that we do we we most likely wouldn't get back there market value (wes, batum, la, lillard). Might as well just go into the offseason with what we go and let everyone expire and then make moves.

Sigh, it appears to be an ESPN fail.
Essentially it's all our crap - Freeland, Jeffries, Pav, Price, Williams - for Gordon, plus the additional pick(s).
I doubt CHA is THAT desperate to get rid of Gordon. But if they were, I'd do it.

Gorden could make for a good trade chip next year with a high expiring deal.

Id much rather have cap space this summer then an overpaid SG who can score but thats all he can do. The pick would have to be really good otherwise it wouldn't be worth it.

Would you deal Mathews, Smith, Hickson and a 2nd rounder for Gorden and there 1st round draft pick?

Yes. Ben Gordon and two lottery picks > Matthews, a lower lottery pick and (yet another) second rounder.

Yeah, IF we can use the cap space to make a lopsided trade for a good player, then I agree. I don't see us signing anyone with that space. So I'd rather have Ben Gordon's expiring contract at the next trade deadline to try to make another lopsided trade if we strike out with trades this summer. We need to have SOME trade assets moving forward - having NO trade assets this year sucks. If we had Hickson on a multi-year deal and Gordon as an expiring then we could at least do something with trades next season.

Plus, all the garbage I propose shipping out have 2- and 3-year deals - which is why CHA wouldn't take it, even if they are desperate to get rid of Gordon.

Im more into the idea of signing 2 to 3 players this off season then spending it all on one guy. To many holes in this roster to just use the capspace on one player.

Agreed. Any ideas on who? I haven't looked at the list in a while, but I seem to recall being quite unimpressed with who's available.

The Charlotte Bobcats are increasingly motivated to trade Ben Gordon before the Feb. 21 deadline.

Gordon refused to stop bouncing a ball as Mike Dunlap spoke during Monday's shootaround.

Gordon began baiting Dunlap, telling him that he needed to "humble himself," sources said.

Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins was in the practice session and ultimately intervened, sources said.

"Beyond disrespectful," was how one league source described the scene.

The Bobcats decided not to suspend Gordon for the incident, believing it would hurt his trade value.

Gordon is owed $13.2 million for the 13-14 NBA season.

Talent wise, he is just what we need coming off the bench. But with surfaced about his personality, absolutely not!

I was going to say they'd have to pay me to take Gordon, but you kinda did.

This story "hurt his trade value" whether they suspended him or not. I can't believe they were too pussy to suspend him as he deserved.

I don't know the specifics - none of us do. All I know is that, based off of reports, 'Dre was disrespectful to Nate.
Not defending Gordon, or saying we should get him. Never particularly cared for him as a player. But I also wouldn't walk away from a trade over this IF I was interested in acquiring him prior to learning about this.

I'd trade Hickson/Freeland/Babbitt for Gordon if they also gave us Jeff Taylor and our pick back.

The Blazers are holding no cards during this trade deadline. Don't bother wearing shorts kids, this deadline is gonna be boring as fuck. I would like to ask everyone to have your tank avy picked out by the 21st, which should give everyone enough time to come up with something clever.

Same. The guy can score off the bench with the best of them. I've never heard of him being a headcase until now. If they're willing to dump him for nothing, I'd give him a go for a year or two. JR Rider was the ultimate headcase and he helped us get to the WCF.

Imagine if Jordan had been there. Ben would've probably been crying by the time he was finished.

Thats what I'm saying. You give the guy a chance and if he fucks up well then he becomes high trade chap as his high contract expires.
Mathews, Smith, Hickson and a 2nd rounder for Gorden and there 1st round draft pick might not look that bad a few years after the trade is done.
