Orlando should be banned from having #1 picks...

    Shaq
    Webber
    Howard

Not one of them stayed in that town.

Cleveland got to the Finals with LeBron, and now they have Irving.... so ya.

When did Detroit last have a #1 pick?

    Sac drafts headcases.

Are we talking #1 picks? I thought it was rebuilding via draft. And Cleveland is very lucky and still not making the playoffs in a conference that is weak.

I think their future is pretty bright with Irving, Waiters, Zeller, and Thompson. Their future depends on Irving's health though.

Not gonna lie. Irving will be a superstar.

All I'm saying is with every team always rebuilding via draft; there are those blazers that made it to the wcf twice with never having a draft pick. Remember Utah didn't have one either for a long ass time and made it to the finals twice?

They made it to the finals twice because of Karl Malone and John Stockton, both of whom they drafted.

And to point to the Blazers is bit deceiving because A) the CBA is different now, and B) those players were acquired by trading assets. We are short on assets.

We actually had assets from good scouting and picking players late in the first round. The other assets came from the drexler trade. Are you saying we should trade Aldridge for more assets?

Almost as much as OKC, SA and IND.

We all know it's not sure fire.

Detroit has had 3 lotto picks in recent years. Greg Monroe (per 36 17/11 PER 19.7) Brandon Knight (per 36 15/5 12.6 PER)and Andre Drummond per 36 13/14 22.4 PER)

Cleveland has had 2 number one picks in recent times. Lebron James and Kyrie Irving
Two number 4 picks in Tristan Thompson 13/10 per 36 16.2 PER 21 years old and Soup Juggler 17.3ppg per 36 and 12.7 PER Will never be great for unscientific reasons.
That's it. they have had no other high picks other than missing on Luke Jackson (10) in 2004

Sacramento has had the most lotto chances of the three mentioned. High picks recently Cousins (per 36 20/11 20.3 PER), Evans (per 36 18/5/4 18.2 PER) , Byombo(Freddette per 36 18/3 15.2 PER), Robinson (per 36 11/11 10.8 PER), Jason Thompson (12 overall) per 36 14/9 15.0 PER

It just seems to me that whatever the reason these franchises are not as good as some think they should be, isn't because of the talent they got in the lottery

Wait, which players did we take late in the first round who helped get us to the WCF twice? And no, the Drexler trade didn't net us shit. Thorpe was gone almost immediately.
