Pat Leonard (Twitter): #NYR GM Jeff Gorton is trying 2 move Girardi and/or M.Staal as #NHL Draft nears, per source. Each would have to waive no-move clauses tho

Leonard (Twitter): And this: Kevin Shattenkirk's price tag on an extension is in the $7 million-per range but he would take a discount to join the Rangers #NYR

I'd trade Girardi and Hayes/Kreider for him. Doubt that gets it done but I can hope lol

Said for months which was stating the obvious. Shattenkirk is a Rangers fan and wants to play here. So if they deal for him, don't give up a ton. They have leverage.

The hawks got two second round picks from the canadiens for Andrew Shaw...LOL They keep replenishing their system while the Rangers are sitting on their asses.

Knowing Girardi he won't waive and continue to milk the team out money after they made such a predictable, glaring mistake with him.

Gorton GM's this team like a woman driving a car. Hesitates, can't make an f'n decision.

Gorton is handcuffed by Sather's god awful contracts. However, he's proven he also has no idea how to negotiate a contract as seen with Stepan. To me, regardless of how "weak" it might make us, Stepan has to go because he has a NMC going into effect soon and if we all thought he was a glider before, just wait and see. This guy has zero fight in him, as seen by his awfuk faceoff %. Faceoffs take skill but also hard work and heart. That's all you need to know about Stepan. I honestly don't think this team makes any important moves this offseason and we sadly will struggle all year long and either barely limp into the playoffs or miss them. I truly hope I'm wrong, but this roster as is has NO chance of doing anything to write home about.

Tell me I'm not a real fan all you want. I don't truly care. I know I am a real fan. Win or lose I support this team and hope they win. However, there is nothing that says I can't be pessimistic about this team's chances and brace myself for the worst possible scenario. You don't get to be a bigger fan because you're a homer or refuse to see weaknesses. You just get your heartbroken worse than those that see the issues early on.

Nobody is saying this team doesn't have holes, and it is very obvious there is a lot of work to be done. I assume you're referring to me though, and I was speaking about people saying this team has only had one run other than that we've sucked. I've seen conference finals 3 times in 4 years and I think that's awesome. Not there yet but it's a sign of a successful organization to have that kind of consistency. But I am beating a dead horse on this issue and will let it go, because if you scroll through this thread you'd think it was an Oilers forum.

Just have to let rest of draft and free agency play out to see what if any moves are made. If nothing done it will suck but unfortunately not much we can do. Sather fucked this team up with the contracts to staal and girardi with their NMC clauses and even though I like him I see stepan with his 6.5m nmc starting soon about to be added to the boondoggle. I hope that if nothing is done at least asshole AV plays the kids and since in this scenario we aren't sniffing the cup they at least entertain moving hank while he is still good and can command some sizeable prospects and picks for the future as he will basically be a wasted asset for us. And you can add Nash to this scenario also and the before mentioned stepan before that contract becomes a cancer. On the other hand if Gorton can miraculously shed 1 of girardi and staal and make a move or too our plight might look a lot different. We'll soon find out.

For those who loved Sather are watching a team filled with big pocket players
on cruise control.....with very minimal talent. The NHL draft is not this team's
priority. Trade deadline dates put Ranger fans on a frenetic useless ride.
The Draft is the key to develop Stanley Cup winners, not the trade deadline.
When will this organization wise up?

    Our dumbass GM speaks.

"We’re listening to everything, we’re close on a few things, but it just didn’t materialize today."

Story of your sorry ass career. Yet, you pissed away 2 second round picks and Saarela on an assclown that was washed up.

Its probably going to be easier walking into Ft.Knox than moving Girardi or Staal and feeling like you at least broke even.

Or this one way early on Gorton...LOL.

If you look at the bottom you see 2 Official fire Quinn threads. 2 Official fire AV threads. And 2 Official fire Jeff Gorton threads. And shocker all started by the same non-Rangers fan poster.

It is so laughable and again predictable.
