I've got the raps taking Raymond Felton, unless Gerald Green or maybe Martell Webster are still left on the board. Felton seems like more of a sure thing the Raps need as a future point guard. He can pass, shoot, he's quick and he can dunk. There's not a whole lot of big scorers at shooting guard, but those two HS kids could be ready in a few years and be just absolutely explosive if they are still left on the board.
wow, where've I been? I didn't know there was a coin toss and we ended up w/ the 7th pick. I assumed we had the 8th pick since we won the series matchup w/ the Knicks. I don't think we have a chance at drafting Gerald Green, he's just too talented to be picked at 7th. We were able to draft T-Mac with the 9th pick, but times have changed and teams are more willing to be patient with HSers. I can even picture him being projected as high as 3rd after all the workouts are over and done with.
^We didn't end up with the 7th pick just yet. The coin toss just means that we have more chances than NY at getting that 7th pick. The one thing we do know is that we definitely have the 16th pick from Philly, the 42nd pick from the Clippers and the 58th pick from Miami. Babcock is headed overseas: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> And while most of the projected first-round selections this year are American college and high school players, there is quite a bit of talent in the European Leagues, and that's why Babcock headed overseas yesterday for two weeks, along with Scott Howard, the team's director of International Player Personnel. They'll touch down for games in Italy, Serbia and Spain, before heading to Moscow for the Euro Cup Final Four, May 6-8. "The talent in Europe this year is not has strong as it has been in past years, but there are certainly players that can impact the draft," Babcock said. </div> Source

They can only end up w/ picks 1-3 (if they're lucky) or 8-11.
wouldnt you like to reunite Jerret Jack and Chris Bosh, well you know one thing about Jack he has a passion to win kinda like bosh, they good friends( i read in SI) and they were teamates, the year after bosh entered the nba, jack carried GT to the national championship game where he had no chance of beating both gordon and okafor
Yea, the lottery is only for the first 3 picks, and then everything else is set after that. So assuming the lottery goes as expected, then we'd get the 7th pick, and New York 8th. Our range is 1-3 or 7-10
Draft, europe and other things There is a chance that we should get more then 7th pick ? If not i would say to use this picks like this: 7th pick- try to get PG-Raymond Felton, if not so SF-Gerald Green. 16th pick- if we will pick Raymond Felton so in 16th we try pick SF-Danny Granger, and if we pick SF-Gerald Green in 7th, we should pick PG-Jarrett Jack. And for what's Babcock sad about the talent in Europe- Bob should see the players in Maccabi and CSKA and sign players from there, good players like SARUNAS JASIKEVICIUS, ANTHONY PARKER, DAVID ANDERSON, MARCUS BROWN, CHARLES SMITH and others, can play as the 7-9 player, the age not must be 18-21 to named as a Talent. Most of the mocks Net wide have us drafting one of two scenarios> 7th: Ray Felton and 16th: a swingman (Warrick, Grange, Mccants, Simien ... etc) or 7th: Gerald Green and 16th: Jarret Jack
Which one would you prefer? One thing though is that Green IMO will not fall to 7th, how is it possible when Portland who's biggest need is a SG is picking 5th?
I would undoubtly choose the second scenario, but as you mentioned, John Nash has been yapping about Green for a while now, and unless Marvin falls to 5th, Green is Nash's guy. It's going to take Green some time to develop, and his stock may drop in Chicago or during private workouts, other than that, I don't see Portland letting him pass by.
I just hope we don't draft Joe Forte, I'd be pretty dissapointed if that were to happen. I'd like to see the Clippers draft him though as he could fit well in the backcourt with Livingston, and gives outside shooting and clutch ability.
Granger and Felton for sure. i'd take Graham and Felton over Green and Jack anyday of the week....no question!
I know what this team needs, we need some dunkers!!! someone madddd, who brings the fans to the court, someone like Vince, it's exactly what Philly needed before 2004 draft, someone except Iverson that can give the show for the fans. So... we have to draft someone like Felton, big talent only 6-0 foot tall but his dunks are amazing. Or... if Green slip to 7th we should take him without any questions. And other players like Martell Webster, Antoine Wright and especially Danny Granger, i like SF's who can block shots and rebound the ball almost like PF, he is something between T.Prince and A.Igoudala, i like this player. But what can we do ? all the plans in Bob's head...
To me there are 2 franchise PG's in this draft Chris Paul and Dreon Williams after that there is a distinct drop in the quality of PG'S. Everyone is making PG out be the raptors critical need. I disagree, I was happy with Alston's play (14ppg 6.5 ast and 2.1 TOPG) although he does need to work on his shot selection, but that will come. Anyway with Alvin Williams back in the fold and the emerging Omar Cook or re-signing Milt I feel the raptors are alright at the PG Spot. I say the Raptors use their 2nd round selection for a PG and take either John Gilchrist or Nate Robinson. They should use their top picks to add depth inside(because of the departure of Donyell) and to get an atheletic swing man. Anyway here's my raptors mock: #7 - Christ Taft , or if he's there Gerald Green #16 - Danny Granger or Charlie Villanueva #38 - John Gilchrist (1) or Nate Robinson (2) or Daniel Ewing (3)
If you get Taft you better get a good point guard that will make him want to get up. If not, it's kind of a waste, especially after drafting Bosh and Araujo. You can probably hear and see why Taft's stock has fallen despite going really high before his sophmore year.
I am really against taking Taft just due to the fact that he would be joining an already crowded front court and his already questionable attitude. We already have a headcase in Rafer so we don't need any more off-court problems on our team. Bab's has always been about bringing in character guys to the team so I don't think he would be that high on Taft in the first place.
