    Yeah, but our bench would be a lot better if we had one or two of our best players on it, like they do.

    I still believe that if we started Pavlovic and Leonard, and brought Matthews and Hickson off the bench, we'd be a better and more balanced team overall.

    not really great benches as much as benches period. The Thunder really have 1 strong bench player (Martin) and role players.

    The Warriors have 2 strong bench players (Jack and Landry) but 3 so-so starters (per wise).
    The Clippers have Jamal Crawford, Matt Barnes and role players

    Whereas the Blazers have 1 player who barely registers average on the PER and no one who averages more than 5 ppg off the bench.

    1 double figure scorer off the bench (imho, the backup PG or SG should be the one who averages double figures off the bench) would be huge. And it wouldn't mean they'd have a top 5 bench. Just an actual bench.

    jeffries could also be a decent 9th/10th man on a good bench

    but yeah, one decent combo guard and a legit big off the bench and the blazers have 30 wins prolly

    I totally forgot about gordon.

    but the point remains the same. The Clippers have 6 above average PER players. Portland has 5.

    They have 2 starters with well below average PER. Portland has 1.

    So if they had 1 or 2 average PER players off the bench, it would be huge.

    I understand the sentiment, but I respectfully disagree. IMO, the overall offensive returns diminish once you have more than three weapons on the court at any one time. Playing our 5 best scorers at once diminishes their cumulative effectiveness.

    Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd like to see it proven wrong on the court, rather than just staying with the mediocre status quo.

    That's actually a really good point; but then again it seems Stotts agrees with you. I've seen him always keep 2-3 starters on the floor at all times. I've also noticed that it's like Lillard, Matthews and Hickson or Batum, Matthews and Aldridge.

    I like how when Dirk hit the 3 pointer he threw up three fingers ala the scene in "Inglourious Basterds" when the Germans realized there was a spy in their midst. Germans count to three starting with their thumb. I wondered if Tarantino was full of crap about that. Guess not.

    Actually I loved watching him standing aside from the bench, watching Aldridge swoosh that fade away; then turning around at Dirk and the bench with a HUGE smile on his face.

    I think i remembered it right. I remembered wrong because iirc, how Germans count to three using their hands is the same as how we (generally) do it here, but not how British people did?

    something. But yeah, if HCP's bosses want to know, HCP gives me copyrighted material ALL the time.

    And by "all the time" I mean "obviously, this is a message board. HCP isn't so stupid that he gives (or sells) copyrighted material to anyone AND even if he did, he sure wouldn't talk about it on here."
