That injury might be a turf injury. Sounds like It might be Achilles Tendon. Good thing is he got up and actually walked. Bad thing is no matter how slight the injury he's out for probably the season.
It's most likely an achilles tear. They need an MRI for confirmation, but achilles' tears as a first diagnosis are almost always confirmed.
