Not going to say you are wrong but I'm also not so sure he won't get better in that area. Doesn't need to be though. A number of the greatest QB's ever were not great over 40 yards.

Apparently you did, because I said that Lance had a higher RTG than Wilson, while you quoted back the QBR.

Look I'm not trying to be snarky. I watched the game and was absolutely not impressed with Trey Lance AT ALL.
Hopefully the guy can get it together and be a good QB. His ratings do not tell the story. He lucked into 76 yards and a TD pass and he got a few yards when he missed obvious check down plays.
Bigger issue- I don't have any faith in Jimmy G either.
I also watched the game last night and watched a very intelligent rookie QB pick the Bucks apart. Does he have issues also? Obviously he does but they are not holding him back the way Lance's problems are. The thing is Jones has always been considered a rookie that would be more ready the first day. Trey Lance has a bunch of work to do.

If you want to get into a whats the difference between Passer Ratings and Quarterback ratings i'm game. Believe me when i tell you I'm well versed on the differences. I quoted back the QBR because the RTG was extremely faulty in that game. Of you can't see that (Oh yeah.... "You didn't watch the game?" ) maybe you should pay better attention.
Again Not trying to be Snarky.

I don't want to get into the difference. I don't care about the difference. I didn't bring up QBR. I was merely pointing out that he had two TDs and a higher RTG than Wilson. I thought that was interesting.

Herbert looks like a top 5 QB already.

So many naysayers when he was coming into the league.

I don't think Mario did him any favors.

biggest issue was that Helfrich and Taggart did a shitty job of recruiting WR's and TE's. Herbert had almost no reliable targets

also, in Herbert's junior and senior seasons, the Ducks led the nation in dropped passes

also, part 2: after Taggart bolted to FSU, 5 different 4 star receivers decommitted from the Ducks and two 3 star receivers did too, including Teagan Quitoriano, the Beavers starting TE. That was a giant void that left Herbert few options

it was arroyo. He was such a shitty o coordinator. Morehead would’ve made him a Heisman winner.

something else about Herbert: he had 3 different head coaches, 3 different OC's, and 3 different offensive systems his first 3 season as the Starter. He missed half of his first two seasons, yet he still passed for over 10,500 yards and 95 TD's

    compare his numbers to Mariota:

    Herbert:

    Mariota:

notice how Herbert only had 2 more games than Mariota. Herbert had the disadvantage of playing on a 4-8 team his true freshman season. Mariota red-shirted he freshman season and watched & learned the offense....which remained the same for his 3 years as starter

I mentioned it before...in 2018, Duck receivers dropped 52 passes
