I've seen the MLB one, and it's just fucking stupid how confusing they seem to intentionally make it. It's actually based out of common sense, but you wouldn't know that reading it. lol.

Same with Basketball - except refereeing is much much faster more often, obviously.

    This is completely true.

Edit: you know how hand is part of the ball when you're holding or dribbling it? Well, the rulebook doesn't specifically say "The Hand Is Part Of The Ball".

    Rule 4-24
Section 24 Hands & Arms, Legal & Illegal Use

Art. 2... it is legal use of hands to reach to block or slap the ball controlled by a dribbler or a player throwing for goal or a player holding it and accidentally hitting the hand of the opponent when it is in contact with the ball.

Then what do you make of the Tim Donaughy book? He was able to win bets on games based on the relationship the refs had with players/coaches in the game.

Tim Donaghy was a slimy, opportunistic bastard. They tend to be liars too. That dude is a liar and a cheater and somehow we're supposed to take his word as gospel because he wants to sell books? :dunno:

I'll tell you something about Tim Donaughy....

    FUCK Tim Donaughy...

That doesn't happen. Pretty rarely actually. Come to think of it, who shows up on a school day and yells:

    GRADE THE PAPERS!

    Yeah... nobody...

I always go out of my way to thank teachers.

you ever go to a parent teacher conference? Or hear people giving teachers advice about how to do their job better?

That's not the same thing as showing up in the middle of a work day and yelling at them telling them how to do their job. That's what happens to referees.
