I am actually thinking of doing this job every year. It is a seasonal position because the shorebird breeding season only lasts so long. A disabled vet who lost both legs when he threw himself onto a grenade in Iraq, he uses artificial limbs to walk short distances and hopes to one day be crutch-free. The soldiers whose lives he saved bought him the bike as a way to help him stay independent and mobile. On Thursday evenings, he delivers meals on wheels with it.
