    I personally think the Magic might have taken a step back with VC coming in. He may be the better overall player, but Hedo causes so many matchup problems with his height and shooting ability and ability to put the ball on the floor. With Carter, they do get better at that position, but I don't know if he fits the team better. Only time will tell I suppose.

    Had the Magic kept Hedo and then gotten Carter, I would have been scared of them.

    They lost both Hedo and Lee (plus Skip) and have gotten worse as a team.

    They have Nelson so they'll still be formidable. The dude just has to stay healthy. Although from another perspective, if Bynum can just stay on the court the whole year now that'll be something. :O

    Yeah, adding an all-star Jameer Nelson pretty much makes that team as strong or near that as last year even with the loss of Rafer, Courtney and Hedo. Rafer though, was a sure thing to be traded considering that it looks like he is gonna clash with Nelson for starter minutes, so I guess they just traded him.

    At the end of the day Artest is just a better player than Trevor on both ends of the court. Trevor was developing well the last couple of seasons, but he's not someone you can consider a go to option at this point in his career.

    The added benefit of Artest now is less wear & tear on Kobe. In the playoffs Kobe was expending a lot of energy defending the opposing teams top wing scorers, now he has Artest to play that role. It's going to save Kobe's legs and give him more energy to use on the offensive end.

    A guy like Artest completely alters the culture of a team because of his passion on the court and his toughness. The Lakers should elevate to a higher level next year with Ron Ron around. He already said he's going to tow the line and do whatever Kobe & PJax want. He's embraced his role on this team and he's hungry for a title. Bringing in a guy like Artest will allow his teammates to have motivation to get him a ring in 2010.

    ^ Also on the defensive end, Kobe can have a break now for most games, with Ron there, which in turn doesn't use all of Kobe's energy and then he's out by the time he has to provide on the other end.

    Really guys, this signing puts you on the front to win it all. (barring any injuries)

    I think the Spurs acquisition of Jefferson is overrated. I really don't think they've got a shot.

    manu is over, he still isnt healthy. Now, with the rockets team future in jeopardy, hornets proving there worth (not much) and denver not doing a thing in the offseason to counter the lakers, utah maybe losing millsap and not improving, the lakers have it easy, and i guess the spurs will have to come second to them in the west, because there's really nobody else, except if denver or utah get a bit better and repeat there seasons from last year.

    I wouldn't underrestimate Boston, if they get Sheed it will be a great battle between Lakers and them. If they don't, I think they can still beat Cavaliers but it'll be hard with lakers.

    Yeah, that Detroit mayhem was Artest's "big break". lol

    Now that I think about it, he and Sasha might either be great friends cause they both love annoying the hell out of enemies, or enemies simply cause the two of them are too annoying. lol
