Gee Thanks Nic. Wish there were more NBA players like you Batum. Appreciation is the key to blessings. Your future is bright.

Wish the NBAP association would realize the key to profits is a good product. They have the power to make as much money as they want. Who cares what the BRI is if your ratings are off the chart. Wake up Players, all you have to do is make it competitve and everyone gets paid!

    Accept the deal!

    lol.

He's right. Owners still demanding more right now after the players have given so much back seems ridiculous.

    Consider the source*

Bucher also reported that players could be sent down to the D-League in the new CBA which was totally false.

It scares me that a contract that is so black and white can be so misunderstood!

No worries, the majority of NBA players are college educated.

The sample roster slide at the end is pretty nice.

Full proposal was "obtained" by USA today: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/nba proposal 11-11-2011.pdf

    Take the deal!

Love how the sign-and-trade thing doesn't go into effect until year 3

    D12 to LA, right?

    CP3 to NY?

Do they not realize that the risk of voiding 400+ contracts is much greater than any reward they could possibly get?

    Their lawyer must be George.

My question to agents opposing NBA's offer. How is it in the best interest of your current clients to reject the NBA's deal when

    1. Your clients all lose money they'll never get back by missing games 2. The league's offer is about to get worse (no, it's not a bluff)

    3. The changes of winning an anti-trust suit via decertification against the league is slim and finally ...

    4. The union has already given away $3 billion … the remaining issues only impact a very small # of players. Losing season affects everyone

I agree league's offer is one-sided & even unfair. But what's your best alternative to this deal? I don't see one

You are so gullible. Hey man, can I have a dollar? I'm losing money--believe me!! I won't waste your dollar and keep losing money, man!

It was weird, a year after I attended a Koufax game. The dual holdout was way over anything that happened with LeBron and the Heat.

So if the players only care about themselves and not about the future of the league/players they best jump on this. Short term is all they should think about because they only will be playing short term. Then again some players might care about future players. And we've heard it's going to get worse before, right? They might lose a season, but I doubt the owners want that. But if that is what it takes to make it a fair deal and players don't only care about this season, they might be willing to sacrifice this season to try and get a fair deal.

I for one hope that doesn't happen and I don't know what I would do in their place, I probably would say show me the money, but I hope I would not just care about the cash.

Don't get me wrong, I sure hope they reach a agreement, but some of the arguments seem pretty short sighted and greedy.

Kobe was one if first players to support 50-50 split; just a hunch, but good chance he may push players to accept deal & he's got clout.

Michael, how does it affect future NBA players in a negative way? Did I miss something? Aren't they still all going to be paid in the top 1% of the American population for playing a game? Are they not going to still have chartered jets? 5* hotel accommodations? First class medical teams at their fingertips? Are they still not going to be able to live the bling lifestyle they all seem to crave?

The problem here isn't that the owners are asking for too much in this negotiation. The problem is that they gave way too much in previous negotiations.

I am in sales of sorts, and our company messed up our comp plan and really overpaid everyone a couple of years ago. The following year they adjusted that comp plan and we all made less. That is basically what the owners are doing now. I am still extremely well compensated, but instead of a 3000 SF beach house in Hawaii, I can only get a 2500 SF one now. Boo hoo
