Yahoo reporting NBA owners and players resumed talks Tuesday to try to end lockout. By Friday.

Source on NBA ownership side on Y! Sports report: "If they get a deal done in 2 days then this really was all about ego."

NBA's "secretive" talks to continue on Thanksgiving if necessary, source says. "Sides feeling pressure from sponsors for Christmas games."

NBA's Tim Frank on @wojyahoonba reporting talks resumed: "The NBA remains in favor of a negotiated resolution" but declined further comment.

By my calcs, a season that started on Dec. 25 & finished on April 25 could be 64 games, played at the same pace as '99.

    64 games is about right.

All that needs to happen is the Owners have to give a little on player movement. As Henry Abbott pointed out, none of the measures that the owners are insisting on, supposedly for the sake of parity, have any effect on parity. Stern just needs to make an agreement and then prove he's still the boss by browbeating the whiny minority of owners into accepting it.

Either that, or the artist formerly known as Ron Artest needs to crack another one of Jordan's ribs.

I tell you that if the last proposal was allowed to be voted on by ALL 450+ players it would have been accepted!

2 sources confirm Yahoo story on players' lawsuit settlement talks starting. Not CBA talks; this has 2 happen first. Check Asch on NBA,con.

This is a good point by DA

Derek Fisher's reported non-involvement in latest NBA talks is an important note. Fisher will ultimately have to give OK to any new deal.

If Xmas day start happens, can play everybody twice and division opponents four times to squeeze in 66 games, or 3x in division for 62.
alternatively, opposite conference 1x own conference 3x and own division 4x makes 61-game slate.

I'd imagine if they got a deal approved and then have it ultimately nixed by Fish, he'd have to look into witness protection.

There will be no deal tonight or tomorrow, folks, so enjoy your Thanksgiving. And thanks for hanging in with me through this fiasco.
