Calling it now. Whenever this gets done it will be at 51% with the option of going to 53%. For that, owners will get shorter contracts and other concessions
One small step up the mountain: source: sides close on mid-level exception agreement. I go get some bento and look what I miss!
I also think there should be a franchise tag, but there won't be. Maybe a scale? A certain number of 6 year, 5 year, 4 year and 3 year deals?
Players are killed by the fans. 50% of 4 billion is a tough number for most fans to think they should get more
And if the owners don't like the business then they can SELL THEIR TEAMS. In fact, please, owners, sell "your" teams and fuck off.
Sell them to owners who are prepared to realize that owning a team is a fantastic, money-losing privilege. Anyone who's in this to run it as a business doesn't quite get the point or is a really shitty owner (like Donald Sterling).
That is a silly comment IMO. A lot of owners make money, and their teams are extremely competitive. There is no reason an owner investing in a franchise shouldn't expect to turn a profit.
KBergCBS...... Now a Tiki Barber sighting outside #NBA talks. If there were ever a time for negotiators to fumble ...
KBergCBS.......... Talks hitting 2 1-2 hour mark. If we've learned anything, time means little in terms of substance.
SamAmicoFSO......... NBA website reports sides are close on mid-level exception. Which is a lot like running a marathon and getting a small prize after 10 feet.
http://sheridanhoops.com/2011/10/10/poll-results-nba-season/ Sheridan thinks they will get it done tomorrow. He is right about one thing. Neither side has any reason whatsoever to not make a deal tomorrow. It would be foolish
Mrs. HCP actually posted about the NBA labor talks on her facebook page! She said, "Let Them Play!" Love that girl!
We all know the reason. I am still offering up 37 cents to the person with number 85 or above. I can't believe she installed that ticket machine. I also can't believe I waitied in that line for number 134
