Billy Hunter: Apparent to players that spin NBA has put on offer is not quite accurate..players are of mind it's an unaccetpable proposal..
Hunter: We've compromised on the economics. But that compromise is predicated on the ability to get the things we need to get in the system.
Hunter: "I'm really heartened by the fact that these guys came ... everybody was fully engaged. ... We walked out of the room together."
Hunter: "We know that their are a group of teams that are dug in; we're aware of who the hardliners are."
"Players are still of the mindset they will not accept a bad deal. That's the message we have to send to the other side," -- Hunter.
Hunter: We're prepared to negotiate objectively and fairly but we expect the same thing from our adversary.
Billy Hunter says David Stern can expect a call hoping to inspire new talks. His board is authorized to move on BRI with system wins.
Hunter says he's hearing through "underground" that if no deal by 5 p.m., NBA will cancel games through Christmas.
Hunter says decertification is "not a worthwhile endeavor" and "not something the players here want to do."
Players willing to move on BRI with system changes might be a conversation starter. We'll see how NBA responds.
