This thread is made for us talking about the Timberwolves offseason this year. I will start us off, do you think we have a good chance to sign Gary Payton? I also have another question, who do you think we will get for Brandon? I'm hoping the Artest deal. Besides him being a headcase, I think he would be a solid pickup and will help us get past the first round and have KG sign an extension.

I don't think the TWolves need a PG. Hudson played great for them in the playoffs and should have a lot of confidence coming into next season. (or he could be another Mike Bibby.)

What the TWolves DO need is a dependable big man. They are probably going to lose Nesterovic, and Marc Jackson is not a legit starter. The TWolves need to free up cap space to be a player in this year's free agent pool. There are plenty of big men to choose from, but unloading one of their overpaid players is going to be hard to do.

    1. Trade Brandon to Warriors for Adonal Foyle & Jiri Welsch
    2. Sign Adrian Griffin & Tyrone Hill
    3. Trade Wally for Artest

    New Roster
    ------------
    Hudson/Welsch/Strickland
    Artest/Peeler/Gill
    KG/J. Smith/Griffin
    Hill/Trent
    Foyle/Jackson/Woods

hudson is capable of playing the two guard, and that will make wally a three, and kg a 4, rasho the 5. thats 3, maybe 4 potential all stars on our roster.

i don't think rasho is going to be on the team next year.

if hudson plays the 2, then who plays the 1, strickland?

payton if we sign him. hudson isnt a true pg, but i like him at that position, but i dont see him sitting on the bench. and maybe we could either rose or artest, either i wouldnt mind, playing the three(with wally gone of course).

ok, my ideas are very unlikely, but a guy can dream, cant he? but the more i think about it, i wouldnt mind seeing jalen rose in a timberwolf jersey. hes a consistent scorer, and could take the pressure off of garnett. so i think we should probably make that trade.

    pg-hudson
    sg-rose
    sf-wally
    pf-garnett
    c-rasho

i wouldnt mind that roster at all

throw signing Gary Payton out the window now... we Have Sammy C and Troy Hudson now... no need for GP (even tho I would like to see him signed instead of trading for Sam)... but neverless Sam Cassell will def help Wally since hes a passing PG...

It was a smart trade for Minny. Will T-hud play the 2 guard now?

definitely. i'm just wondering what the Bucks were thinking. they needed REAL big men, yet they trade for Joe Smith? Maybe he won't have such an awful season this time

they needed to clear room for payton, and with peeler having an option this year, they will probably release him and take the money. joe is descent, and i think he will do better in the eastern conference
