The one deal that makes total sense for me.

Meyers is probably further along in his second season than Hawes was, Lowry is not a good locker room guy and his skills are declining. No way I give up Wright, Leonard, and other small contracts to risk this kind of move. I like Hawes but we could probably find a better deadline trade without gutting the bench now. I think Olshey will tweak things before the deadline but not move that many players to do it. Toronto would jump on it though. They love tall shooters who don't play good defense. Toronto would probably bite on a smaller trade with Claver and Barton.

Mags gets to experience first hand the ire of the Blazers community if you attempt to propose a trade idea.

    23-5 Mags..... 23-5 :devilwink:

Yeah, their new GM has rid their roster of soft, doughy, perimeter shooting Euros. The one Euro they have left, actually plays in the post, rebounds and hasn't attempted a 3-pointer all season.

So we trade out garbage for two of the three best players in the overall trade, and Philly loses their two best players to get absolutely nothing of long-term worth...

Take Young and Toronto out of the deal, and give Philly at least two promising prospects for Hawes, and then you have something resembling reality.

23-5 teams should not make trades. It's not just about PER and on court production. It's leadership on the court, on the bench, in the locker room and in practice. Don't fuck with this team. It also sends a bad message to the team that you're not happy with their play. Jesus Christ, mags!

Can we figure out a way to add Minnesota and Houston to this trade? I'd also like to have Asik and Rubio on our bench, plus get us a first round pick.

Lopsided trades happen every single year.

They usually don't happen until trade deadline day when GM's are out of time.

Lopsided trades generally happen due to large expiring contracts, trade exceptions or the packaging of potentially impactful young players. None of which are involved here.

And a team doesn't generally trade for pieces that add more salary to a position they already have performing well

So what you are saying is Leonard is not an impactful player? Well that sucks for us! Wasted pick then?
