Oregon State WBB: Beavers Land 2023 G Kennedie Shuler Back in the day a girl that my father taught and coached committed to the OSU WBB team. We got season tickets for the next 4 years and those games were always a blast. Go Beavs!
Oregon State Adds Texas Safety Jalen O'Neal to 2023 Recruiting Class Heard there was talk about just combining the Big 12 and Pac 12. How would that work? Someone from the Athletic wrote an article about it, but I didn't resubscribe to their services this last time around.
I dunno--I think I heard someone suggesting adding in a couple mid-majors (not sure who) and forming a 24-team super conference with 4 6-team pods. Maybe something like this: NW--UW/WSU/UO/OSU/STAN/CAL Mountain--Uta/BYU/UA/ASU/CO/Nevada Midwest--Baylor/TCU/TT/Hou/KU/KSU East--UCF/USF/Cin/WVU/OKSt/ISU Little bit clunky of a fit for a couple of those pods, but I think it could be workable.
True. I went with UNR just because they've had quality football and basketball programs, but most MWC schools would be decent options.
The Pac 12 would do better TV contract-wise to stay as they are. ESPN and Fox Sports are not going to broadcast the east coast and midwest games.
Are ESPN and Fox Sports going to broadcast Pac12/10 games as they currently stand? I honestly have no idea where the current TV contract negotiations are, but from everything I've heard the Pac12 network just had absolutely miserable distribution. I'd think an arrangement that spread the Pac12 net across Texas and Florida would be valuable.
Really good article about the best Beaver baseball player to ever get drafted into MLB >> https://www.mlb.com/news/adley-rutschman-top-all-around-catcher
I don't know Sly. I think because of the Nike link, Oregon has got cred nationwide. I don't think those Smogtowners leaving for a conference in the upper Midwest made any sense other than monetary wise. If the Big 12 can get past their politics, and i think that's a big part of this, joining a Pacific super conference makes a lot of sense. I would like to see Oregon playing BYU & TCU semi regularly. Would open Texas up more to Oregon as well. Oregon is now a destination for top rated high school footballers.
Been following him very closely this season. His numbers over the past two months have been approaching all-star level already!!
I don't see joining the Big 10 as a second fiddle team is good for the Ducks, at all. Even with beating the Fuckeyes last year, Oregon was not invited over UCLA, really. That's a slap in the face. Enjoy the snow USC Condoms. Oregon should stay and potentially dominate the Pac 12. The playoff series will end up adding the Pac 12 + anyways. Utah is real good now. Schedule a Big Boy once a year, beat your conference, and contend for the title.
It will be interesting to see how the playoffs are changed/expanded to assure multiple teams from the SEC and Big 10 get in. If they take the winner of every conference then I agree, the remaining Pac 12 teams all have a better chance than if they joined the Big 10. But it still comes down to money. The new Pac 12 TV deal needs to be way better than it is now, and even then the donors still will be a huge factor with NIL.
