Yeah, and I remember the same bit of questioning by some when we captured Saddam. A man who had many doubles and look alikes, and tons of palaces and guards, and we catch him in a hole in the ground and hang him. I thought questioning that one was dumb as well, but when people did, seemed like many on the right were outraged that anyone would suggest a conspiracy. But now, here you go with conspiracies. Hypocrisy. It's pretty amusing.

I'm sure the WH will release some real evidence at some point today.

 

Really? We held Saddam for a long time, he was put on trial and it was a detailed trial and execution live broadcast to the world?

 

Why was the compound burned to the ground? If OBL lived there for 5 years, you'd think that there would be quite a bit of intel to be found in it.

It was an "accident".

 

The US handed Saddam over to the Iraqi government, who tried him under Iraqi law, and sentenced him to death. If you're going to play the victim game, at least get the basic facts correct.

 

I'm not playing a victim game. Just noting the hypocrisy. Whatever you guys want. Question everything! Which is fine. but apparently not when a Republican is president. Then it borders on treason.

 

Your logic doesn't make sense.

Why would they put this operation in the lime light? Why should the US Government disclose all the information (if any)?

 

It is this sort of attitude that got us in this mess to begin with.

 

What hypocrisy, though? Unless you think that Saddam really wasn't held in jail by the Iraqi people, tried, convicted, and executed. I think OBL died in a firefight within the past week; I'll take the President at his word on this. That doesn't mean that the reporting hasn't been god-awful, or that there may have been some strange decisions made in the aftermath of OBL's death.

 

Yeah, they just burnt down the building and left all the important documents inside.

 

Why shouldn't they? If you're going to have "look at me" press conference at 11:30pm EDT on a Sunday night, then the public is going to want to know all of the information available about OBL's death.

 

Not saying the US Government needed to disclosed anything. However, it just means there is no confirmation of anything other than evidence that can be easily fabricated and believing the US Government on its own word.

however, there are a lot of things that do not add up here and there are obvious questions.

 

They were in the building for 40 minutes, and that included the firefight. At least that's the latest story.

 

When has the government ever released all the information they have on any subject? They wouldn't even be truthful about Obama's breakfast.

 

Wait wait wait.... 9/11 consiparicy (sp) theories point to a self inflicted disaster by the govt (led at the time by Bush) so to say this is only happening now is disingenious
