Thompson-Robinson leads No. 24 UCLA past Stanford 35-24

When the game was on the line, Dorian Thompson-Robinson wasn't going to allow UCLA to lose.

Thompson threw a tiebreaking 75-yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter and came back from a banged-up shoulder to throw a clinching touchdown late that helped No. 24 UCLA spoil Stanford's return home with a 35-24 victory over the Cardinal on Saturday.

Stanford rallies late to beat No. 3 Oregon 31-24 in OT

Stanford's comeback victory that stunned Oregon was enough of a roller-coaster that coach David Shaw felt the need to apologize to his parents and any other fans older than 70 for the emotional toll.

The Cardinal overcame a blown lead and had their banged-up quarterback stage an improbable rally before finally prevailing over the third-ranked Ducks.

Tanner McKee threw a TD pass on an untimed down at the end of regulation to tie the game and another on the opening possession of overtime to lead Stanford to a 31-24 victory Saturday.

Daniels leads Arizona State to 42-23 win over No. 20 UCLA

Arizona State relied on its rushing attack in its first four games. Jayden Daniels and the passing game propelled the Sun Devils to an upset win over No. 20 UCLA on Saturday night.

Daniels passed for 286 yards and threw two touchdown passes to Ricky Pearsall, and Arizona State used big plays in a convincing 42-23 victory at the Rose Bowl.

No. 22 Arizona State powers past Stanford for 28-10 win

Jack Jones stepped in front of the receiver, caught the ball and held it out with one hand. Just before he hit the ground, the Arizona State defensive back caught a glimpse of Deandre Pierce and tossed it to his teammate for a spectacular touchdown.

The Sun Devils' run game was just as impressive.

Pierce scored a 27-yard touchdown on a lateral off Jones' interception and No. 22 Arizona State rode its explosive run game to a 28-10 win over Stanford on Friday night.

Dye, Brown lead No. 10 Oregon past UCLA, 34-31

Anthony Brown and No. 10 Oregon aren't garnering style points , but in a season where the College Football Playoff picture remains murky at best, they keep on getting key victories.

Brown had a season-high 381 yards of offense and Travis Dye became the first player in Football Bowl Subdivision history to score touchdowns on four consecutive carries as the Ducks held on for a 34-31 victory over UCLA on Saturday.

No. 24 Utah routs No. 4 Oregon, ending Ducks' CFP hopes

Utah ended Oregon's College Football Playoff hopes in dominant fashion. The Ducks' 38-7 loss Saturday night also ended any chance the Pac-12 champion will claim one of the bids in the four-team playoff.

Rising throws 3 TDs and No. 16 Utah beats Colorado 28-13

Losing a couple of early season games was far from the most difficult thing Utah had to overcome to get back to the Pac-12 title game.

"We've taken probably the hardest thing that can happen and we've turned it into something beautiful," receiver Britain Covey said after Senior Day victory against Colorado on Friday.

No. 14 Utah beats No. 10 Oregon 38-10 for 1st Rose Bowl bid

As the Utah players celebrated the Pac-12 championship surrounded by roses and confetti, the memories of two teammates who couldn't share in the moment was paramount.

The past year marked by tragedy following the deaths of Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe will end with the long-coveted Rose Bowl bid.

Devin Lloyd returned an interception for a touchdown, Cam Rising threw for another score and No. 14 Utah clinched the first Rose Bowl berth in school history with a 38-10 victory over No. 10 Oregon on Friday night.

No. 14 USC routs Rice 66-14 in big debuts by Williams, Riley

Southern California scored on every one of its possessions in the first three quarters. The Trojans' defense also took three interceptions to the house, and a stadium filled with winning-starved fans went increasingly wild for each and every score.

Lincoln Riley's tenure is off to a rip-roaring start, and his players sound confident their revitalization of a powerhouse program will get even better.

"This is definitely a statement," star receiver Jordan Addison said. "That's what we wanted to do. Week 1, we had to show everybody that this wasn't just no hype. We're ready to play."

Caleb Williams passed for 249 yards, rushed for 68 more and hit Addison for two touchdowns in No. 14 USC's 66-14 victory over Rice on Saturday.

Another big day for Williams leads No. 10 USC past Stanford

Caleb Williams stood up and offered one last parting thought: "Fight on! 2-and-0, baby!" His decorated fingernails told a story, too: Stanford's iconic tree mascot on each middle digit.

Williams threw for 341 yards and four touchdowns, with two of those going to Jordan Addison, leading No. 10 Southern California past Stanford 41-28 on Saturday night in the Pac-12 opener.

Watson helps Washington State beat No. 19 Wisconsin 17-14

Nakia Watson acknowledged having extra motivation this week facing his former team.

No wonder he was a little more emotional than usual afterward.

Watson scored both of Washington State's touchdowns as the Cougars upset No. 19 Wisconsin 17-14 on Saturday. Watson rushed for 522 yards and five touchdowns at Wisconsin from 2019-20 before transferring.

UW football makes nonconference statement in 39-28 win over No. 11 Michigan State

Even when Kalen DeBoer is wrong, he’s right.

With 1:30 left in the first quarter Saturday and the Huskies holding an early 7-0 lead, Washington went for it on fourth-and-goal from Michigan State’s 1-yard line. Junior quarterback Michael Penix Jr. took the snap and darted left, on what appeared to be an option play.

He was swallowed by Spartan defensive end Khris Bogle for a 1-yard loss.

“We’re going to play aggressive,” DeBoer said of the fourth-down decision. “When you’re on the 1-yard line going in, you’ve just got to punch ‘em in. That’s something we’re going to look at tomorrow and … I don’t want to say have regrets. But man, if we do a couple things a little bit better there, a couple inches more, the game could have been put away even in bigger fashion.”

In a different season, with a different coach, and a different quarterback, that may have been the difference. A team that hadn’t beaten a ranked nonconference opponent inside Husky Stadium since No. 11 Michigan in 2001 — albeit with precious few opportunities — may have played like it. The Huskies could have cratered on ABC, faltering for all the world to see.

Instead, they dominated — delivering a 39-28 victory and a signature nonconference win.
