UCLA's Torian White out for season

Left tackle Torian White will miss the rest of No. 12 UCLA's season because of a badly injured right ankle.

Bruins tailback Jordon James also is doubtful for next week's home game with his own ankle injury, coach Jim Mora said Friday night.

Those two key injuries during a 34-27 victory Thursday at Utah dampened Mora's excitement over another gritty performance by UCLA (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12), which is off to its best start to a season since 2005. Mora relished the Bruins' performance under circumstances including significant injuries, chilly weather and a tenacious Utes effort.

Stanford withstands Washington's rally to hold off Huskies

Ty Montgomery had several drops and one of his worst games in a loss at Washington last season. A year later, he turned in a breakout performance that saved Stanford.

Montgomery finished with 290 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, and the fifth-ranked Cardinal held on to beat No. 15 Washington 31-28 on Saturday night in a matchup of unbeaten Pac-12 North teams.

David Shaw: 'We don't fake injuries'

Stanford coach David Shaw fired back at Washington's Steve Sarkisian over allegations that the Cardinal faked injuries in its 31-28 win against Washington on Saturday, even going as far to call the Huskies coach "unprofessional."

"We don't fake injuries. We never have and we never will," Shaw said Tuesday. "And I don't care what Steve Sarkisian thinks that he saw."

Shaw first made the comments on the Pac-12 teleconference, then repeated them with local media about 45 minutes later. They came in response to Sarkisian's accusations, which came during a postgame radio interview.

Utah stuns No. 5 Stanford with help of last-minute goal-line stand

Travis Wilson weaved his way through the sea of red, torn between retreating to the locker room and celebrating this signature win with the Utah faithful that had stormed the field.

Like he really had a choice, especially after the enthusiastic crowd lifted him up.

That's what happens after a quarterback helps orchestrate the biggest upset at home in school history and the most significant victory Utah has had since moving to the Pac-12 three years ago. The Utes made a goal-line stand in the final minute and Wilson threw two TD passes in a 27-21 victory against No. 5 Stanford on Saturday.

Brett Hundley leads UCLA to easy victory over Cal

Brett Hundley reacted to the most prolific passing performance of his UCLA career with a dismayed shake of his head. Anthony Barr mostly remembered the plays that got away in another smothering defensive effort.

The 11th-ranked Bruins weren't content with mere dominance against struggling California. They know they'll have to be much closer to perfect to meet their tougher October challenges.

Hundley passed for a career-high 410 yards and three touchdowns, and Paul Perkins rushed for an early score in a 37-10 victory over Cal on Saturday night.

    Jordan Williamson tweaks leg

Redshirt junior kicker Jordan Williamson is questionable for No. 13 Stanford's game against ninth-ranked UCLA on Saturday because of a leg injury.

Cardinal coach David Shaw said after Wednesday night's practice that Williamson "tweaked" one of his legs. Shaw declined to reveal more about the injury, saying only that Williamson might sit out against the Bruins if he's not healthy enough.

    Marqise Lee out for USC

USC wide receiver Marqise Lee will not play against Utah on Saturday because of a left knee injury, a source told ESPN.

Lee missed most of the second half of a loss to Notre Dame last Saturday after aggravating the injury.

The Trojans are hoping wide receivers Darreus Rogers and De'Von Flournoy can play through injuries against Utah.

Tyler Gaffney runs for 3 TDs as Stanford tops Oregon State

This was the type of game where No. 6 Stanford thrives, the sort of bare-knuckled, physical brawl where yards and points are hard to come by.

Tyler Gaffney ran for three touchdowns and the Cardinal held off Oregon State's fourth-quarter comeback bid in a 20-12 win Saturday night.

    Ben Gardner out for season

Stanford will be without one of its key defensive players as end Ben Gardner will miss the rest of the season with a left pectoral injury, coach David Shaw said Tuesday.

Gardner, a fifth-year senior, left Saturday's win against Oregon State. He previously had been hampered for several weeks by what appeared to be a shoulder or upper-body injury.

Javorius Allen scores 3 TDs in win as USC becomes bowl eligible

Having finally won at Reser Stadium after a long drought, the USC Trojans lifted interim coach Ed Orgeron to their shoulders in celebration.

Southern California defeated Oregon State 31-14 on Friday night, winning in Corvallis for the first time since 2004. And in the process, the Trojans became bowl eligible after a rocky start to the season.

No. 20 UCLA rebounds with win over Colorado

UCLA nursed a hangover from consecutive high-profile losses until late in the first quarter, when Brett Hundley ignored the boos and threw a beautiful 76-yard touchdown pass to Devin Fuller right through the heart of the Colorado defense.

There's nothing wrong with these Bruins that a few more wins couldn't repair, and Hundley made sure they started the healing process at home.

Hundley threw two touchdown passes and rushed for two more scores, Fuller accounted for three TDs, and No. 20 UCLA shook off those back-to-back losses with a 45-23 victory over Colorado on Saturday night.

Stanford silences Oregon for three quarters, holds off rally

Stanford squashed Oregon's national championship hopes again, schooling the Ducks in power football. Florida State might want to send the Cardinal a thank you card.

Tyler Gaffney ran for 157 yards, and No. 5 Stanford hammered No. 3 Oregon for three quarters before holding off a furious rally by the fast-paced Ducks for a 26-20 victory Thursday night.

LB Myles Jack carries UCLA to first win at Arizona since 2003

Freshman linebacker Myles Jack played offense, too, rushing for 120 yards on his first six carries of the season, including a 66-yard touchdown run to help No. 19 UCLA beat Arizona 31-26 Saturday night.
