    Tevin Reese undergoes wrist surgery

Undefeated Baylor has to deal with a big loss.

Speedy receiver Tevin Reese, who was averaging 25 yards a catch and had eight touchdowns, will miss the rest of the regular season for the Bears after surgery on his dislocated right wrist.

"I'm eager to see how it changes from a schematic standpoint and a philosophical standpoint," coach Art Briles said Monday. "We're going to have to kind of change how we think and how we feel without Tevin because he's the fastest receiver in America. ... We'll have to compensate in a variety of ways."

Utah fan attacked in parking lot

Police are looking for a man suspected of attacking a 21-year-old in the tailgating lot outside Saturday's University of Utah football game.

Former Utah student Ryan Stone was found lying on the ground and bleeding from his head at about 4 p.m. Saturday, said University of Utah police Sgt. Garth Smith.

He was taken to University Hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable. His family said in a statement through a hospital spokeswoman that he is being treated for skull fractures. They thanked the public for support but declined further comment.

    Marcus Mariota insists he'll play

Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota insists his left knee isn't a concern and that he'll be ready "for sure" when the No. 6 Ducks host Utah on Saturday.

There are lingering questions about how much his knee injury contributed to the Ducks' 26-20 loss at Stanford last Thursday. Oregon (8-1, 5-1 Pac-12) doesn't discuss injuries, and Mariota hasn't been specific about what's going on despite a school official acknowledging to Ivan Maisel of ESPN.com that he had a partial sprain of his MCL prior to that game.

Asked this week whether his knee is an issue, Mariota replied: "Not at all." Pressed whether he is 100 percent, he said: "That's something that I can't tell you."

Sonny Dykes: 'There is no excuse'

California has suspended an unidentified player for instigating a locker room altercation that sent freshman running back Fabiano Hale to the hospital.

Coach Sonny Dykes announced Friday that after an internal examination of the incident on Nov. 1, the player will be suspended indefinitely from all team activities, will attend counseling and must perform 25 hours of community service to be considered for reinstatement.

"There is no excuse for what occurred," Dykes said in a statement. "We are building a culture of accountability and trust within our football program. Our players understand those expectations and know that they should hold themselves to high standards at all times, whether that's on or off the field or in the classroom. Any violation of that code of conduct will always be taken very seriously."

Nick Pasquale was drunk when killed

Authorities say UCLA receiver Nick Pasquale was drunk when he was hit by a car and killed while walking in Southern California in September.

Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock says the 20-year-old Pasquale had a .26 blood alcohol content when he was killed. The level is more than three times the legal limit for California drivers.

USC stuns No. 4 Stanford on Andre Heidari FG with 19 seconds left

The Coliseum stands emptied in waves that flowed onto the field after Stanford's final fumble.

Thousands of Southern California fans enveloped the Trojans to celebrate an improbable win secured by an interim coach, an inconsistent kicker and a thin defense that wouldn't break.

USC's surge for Ed Orgeron had just swallowed up No. 4 Stanford's national title hopes.

Andre Heidari kicked a 47-yard field goal with 19 seconds to play, and a stalwart defense repeatedly came up big in USC's 20-17 upset of the Cardinal on Saturday night.

Marcus Mariota throws for 288 yards, 3 TDs as No. 6 Ducks pummel Utes

Marcus Mariota is more concerned about his Oregon teammates than he is about his knee.

"They would have to pull me off the field before I wouldn't play," the sophomore quarterback said after throwing for 288 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-21 victory over Utah on Saturday.

Marion Grice (118 yards, 2 TDs) helps No. 19 Arizona St. to win

Arizona State's offense stagnated, its defense was on its heels.

A blocked field goal turned the momentum back on the Sun Devils' side and Robert Nelson sealed it with another big play in the fourth quarter.

Next up: A showdown with No. 13 UCLA with the Pac-12 South title on the line.

Nelson returned his second interception 23 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter and No. 19 Arizona State maintained control of the Pac-12 South with a 30-17 win over Oregon State on Saturday night.

Ed Orgeron stumps for USC job

As USC continues to enjoy its dramatic victory over Stanford, interim coach Ed Orgeron is making it clear that he wants to remain as the coach of the Trojans.

"I want to be the head coach at USC," Orgeron said Monday during an appearance on ESPNU's "CFB Daily." "I love being a head coach. I think that it's something I'm able to do, and do well. And I want to be the head coach at USC when I get the chance. I think I can perform on a very high basis to do what the Trojan family wants me to do."

    Travis Wilson's career in jeopardy

Utah Utes quarterback Travis Wilson's career is in jeopardy after concussion tests revealed a pre-existing condition that could keep him from playing football.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham did not discuss the specifics of the injury, which was discovered after an angiogram revealed the condition. Wilson, a sophomore, suffered a head injury against Arizona State on Nov. 9 and started having headaches the next day.

USC AD: Ed Orgeron on our radar

USC athletic director Pat Haden made it clear that interim coach Ed Orgeron is on his radar for the Trojans' full-time job.

"What Ed has done has been absolutely remarkable," Haden said Tuesday night on KFWB-AM. "He is clearly in our eyesight. We understand. It's not just the fans. We're sophisticated enough and know enough about this to understand the attributes that he has, and he's a known quantity."
