    Marcus Mariota finally beat Stanford.

Now on to the rest of the season and perhaps a shot at the playoff after fifth-ranked Oregon snapped a two-game losing streak to the Cardinal with a 45-16 victory Saturday night.

Brett Hundley totals 320 yards as UCLA beats Arizona for big South win

Nine games and two months deep in a thoroughly unsatisfying season, UCLA's defense finally put it all together and shut down powerful Arizona.

Even Brett Hundley had to marvel at his teammates' defensive dominance in a win that preserved the Bruins' postseason dreams for another week.

Hundley passed for 189 yards and ran for 131 more, and UCLA (No. 22 CFP, No. 25 AP) pulled its season back from the brink with a 17-7 victory over Arizona (No. 12 CFP, No. 14 AP) on Saturday night.

Sun Devils beat Utes 19-16 in overtime

Arizona State watched as one of the nation's best kickers missed not one, but two attempts in overtime.

The Sun Devils' kicker is pretty good, too, and he made it from nearly the same spot, putting them in control of the Pac-12 South, not the Utes.

Zane Gonzalez kicked a 36-yard field goal in overtime for his fourth field goal and Arizona State overcame an uneven performance to beat Utah (6-2, 3-1, No. 17 CFP, No. 18 AP) 19-16 on Saturday night.

Oregon takes advantage of Kaelin Clay's goal-line fumble, downs Utah

For about 5 seconds, the ball was just lying there in the end zone at the feet of Oregon's Erick Dargan. Utah's Kaelin Clay was celebrating with his teammates what looked like a long touchdown catch to put the Utes up 14-0 in the second quarter against the fifth-ranked Ducks.

Joe Walker knew better. Clay had nonchalantly dropped the ball a yard before crossing the goal line.

Walker returned Clay's careless goal line fumble 100 yards for a touchdown and Marcus Mariota threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score as Oregon turned back No. 17 Utah 51-27 on Saturday night.

No. 9 Arizona State holds off late rally, defeats No. 10 Notre Dame

What appeared to be a program-defining win in the first half had turned on Arizona State. The Sun Devils were on their heels, a 31-point lead down to three with a few minutes left, another spirit-crushing loss seemingly on the way.

But something changed in the Sun Devils. They didn't back down from the challenge. They rose up, finding a way to pull out the kind of victory that had eluded them.

Regaining composure after Notre Dame's furious second-half rally, Arizona State (No. 9 CFP, No. 11 AP) scored three late touchdowns and bolstered its playoff hopes with a 55-31 victory over the Irish (No. 10 CFP, No. 8 AP) on Saturday.

Jim Mora's return to Washington and the showdown between dual-threats Myles Jack and Shaq Thompson became a showcase for UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley.

Hundley threw two touchdown passes to become the school's career leader, ran for two more scores and No. 18 UCLA completed a perfect season on the road with a 44-30 victory over Washington on Saturday night.

Solomon powers No. 19 Arizona past Colorado 38-20

A victory over Colorado is nothing unusual for any Pac-12 team. It was still an important win for No. 19 Arizona.

Anu Solomon threw for four touchdowns and ran for a career-best 115 yards, and the Wildcats kept Colorado winless in the Pac-12 by beating the Buffaloes 38-20 on Saturday night.

Utah ends two-game slide with double-overtime win over Stanford

Utah and Stanford, the Pac-12's ultimate grinders, needed more than 60 minutes to decide which team is the conference's king of gritty victories.

    And then they needed more.

Travis Wilson ended the defensive stalemate with a brief burst of offense in the second overtime, throwing a 3-yard touchdown pass to Kenneth Scott to send Utah (No. 23 CFP, No. 25 AP) to a 20-17 win over Stanford on Saturday night.

    Josh Shaw reinstated by USC

USC cornerback Josh Shaw has been reinstated to the team, the school announced Tuesday.

Shaw had been suspended since late August, when he fabricated a story to explain how he suffered two high ankle sprains as a result of jumping from the balcony of his third-story apartment following an argument with his girlfriend. He initially -- and repeatedly -- told USC officials the injury occurred as a result of a leap from a balcony in an effort to save his drowning nephew. That story was shared on USC's website and quickly became a national story before Shaw admitted he had made it up.

His reinstatement was announced on the USC website.

Brett Hundley totals 4 TDs as No. 9 UCLA wins 3rd straight over USC

Brett Hundley's first pass was intercepted by USC linebacker Anthony Sarao, who returned it up the UCLA sideline for a shocking touchdown. Red-clad fans rocked the predominantly blue Rose Bowl, hoping this rivalry was undergoing a seismic shift.

Hundley never wavered or wilted, and his Bruins spent the rest of a celebratory night educating USC about city dominance.

"UCLA runs L.A., if you guys didn't hear last year," Hundley said with a grin.

Hundley passed for 326 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another score, leading No. 9 UCLA past No. 19 USC 38-20 on Saturday night for the Bruins' third straight victory in the annual crosstown showdown.

Nick Wilson, No. 15 Arizona run past No. 17 Utah

    - Practicing at 6 a.m. in the sprinklers may not have made Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez popular with his players, but it made them feel prepared.

Coming from sunny Arizona to stormy Utah, freshman Nick Wilson ran for 218 yards and three touchdowns as the No. 15 Wildcats overcame an injury to quarterback Anu Solomon and pulled away from Utah (No. 17 CFP, No. 20 AP) 42-10 Saturday.

Kelly leads No. 13 Sun Devils past WSU 52-31

After a sluggish start and a difficult last few weeks, Taylor Kelly made his last home game a good one.

The Arizona State senior, coming off a subpar performance in an upset loss at Oregon State, threw for four touchdowns and the No. 13 Sun Devils dominated the second half for a 52-31 victory over Washington State on Saturday.

Stanford's Kevin Hogan helps erase UCLA's hopes for CFP spot

When Kevin Hogan led Stanford onto the hallowed Rose Bowl turf for the fourth time in three years, the quarterback realized the stakes were a whole lot higher for No. 9 UCLA, which could clinch the Pac-12 South with a victory.

Hogan and the Cardinal were only playing for fun -- and the two-time defending conference champions had a boatload of it while ruining the Bruins' season yet again.

Hogan passed for 234 yards and two touchdowns, and Stanford crushed UCLA's hopes for the division title and a College Football Playoff spot with a 31-10 victory Friday.

No. 11 Arizona holds on vs. No. 13 Arizona State to win Pac-12 South

Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez didn't want the score of the UCLA-Stanford game to be displayed inside Arizona Stadium, nor did he want word to leak down to the sideline.

The focus had to be on beating rival Arizona State in the Territorial Cup. If that led to the Pac-12 South title, even better.

It worked out perfectly on both counts for the Wildcats.

Nick Wilson ran for 178 yards and three touchdowns and No. 12 Arizona held off No. 13 Arizona State on Friday to claim the Pac-12 South title.

Dominique Hatfield's INT return for TD boosts No. 25 Utes

In the late going, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham challenged his defense to force a turnover. Cornerback Dominique Hatfield took it a step further.

Hatfield returned a fourth-quarter interception 20 yards for a touchdown and No. 25 Utah benefited from a pair of key replay reversals as the Utes beat Colorado 38-34 Saturday, sending the Buffaloes to their season-ending eighth consecutive loss.

Re: Dominique Hatfield's INT return for TD boosts No. 25 Utes

Marcus Mariota made a strong final impression in his bid for the Heisman Trophy, and No. 2 Oregon left no doubt about whether the Pac-12 champion will get a chance to play for the national title.

About the only question now is who the Ducks will face next.

Mariota threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a career-high three scores, and Oregon all but assured itself a spot in the first College Football Playoff by overwhelming seventh-ranked Arizona 51-13 in the Pac-12 title game Friday night.

    Marcus Mariota wins Unitas award

Marcus Mariota's trophy tour has begun.

On Monday, the Oregon redshirt junior won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The award has been presented annually since 1987 and is given to the "nation's top quarterback who best exemplifies character, scholastic and academic achievement," according to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation Inc. and Transamerica.
