<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> even if they had called a foul....i doubt the lakers would have make a comeback and won.. </div> Actually, those 2 free throws (assuming Kobe makes them) would have put them down by only two. However, it wasn't that play that killed thier momentum but rather Smush missing a WIDE FREEKIN OPEN 3 pointer off an excellent pass by Kobe that would have tied the game at 98. Sadly, he missed, as did Brian Cook earlier then that, and thus they lost. On top of that, Kobe couldn't make a shot to save his life today and wasn't getting calls either. Despite all that, Lakers almost had the victory, so it was a good experience.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fever:</div><div class="quote_post">Down 4, 40 seconds to go, Kobe drives gets a hammer-slap from Tim Thomas that caused a bumb on his forehead, and the refs swollow their whistle. While two hours earlier, they called a foul for Anthony Johnson because he got <u>slightly</u> touched.</div> It was a horrible call, but that didn't decide the game. How about 6 missed free throws, missed shots from 5 feet out by Kwame, and a missed dunk from Smush?
I still think the call would've changed the game around. Any call could change a game around, but like you said, lots of missed free throws.

But you still gotta make the call when someone gets hammered like that in such crucial time.
