Yeah, I don't understand why they would pay so much for a 600 dollar system. You know how many PS3's you can buy with 4-15 grand? Or how about the games you need to buy also to go along with the system? These people aren't thinking at all.
The only reason I'm getting mine on release is because I got a special deal where I get a free game and controller, since me and my mates often have "Madden Nights", the extra controller will come in very handy. Plus I'm a balla, gotta have all the latest and most expensive things, lol.

So I have a Wii. My brother picked it up this morning, and I must say, I'm awfully impressed. We played some Wii Sports, and that's actually really quite fun. Baseball and Bowling were very entertaining, Tennis was ok, and Golf was somewhat unresponsive. Can't wait to play the new Zelda here later when he's finally finished with it.
I'd patient, because usually the first batch of systems have bugs and all that garbage. My 360 is cool, Marvel Alliance was ill

I'm not worried about the Wii crapping out. Nintendo AlWAYS puts out quality products. Beyond that, the Wii doesn't have any state of the art stuff in it that could crap out like the 360 and PS3.
nintendo never usually has bad flaws where the sytem goes to crap..but for some reason nintendo has the little things that bug u to death...regular nintedndo u had to blow in thegames to make them work....64 had the controller that collected gunk in the middle and after a year u were forced to buy a new controller...gamecube controller wire length makes u hafta sit literally right next to the tv...and if u got the wavebird(wireless controller) u all know how the battery life was on that. i bought a ps2 on launch day- broke a lil after a year i bought a xbox on launch day - broke a lil after a year...then bought one again and broke after 6 months...bought another and put swapped serial code tags on it and brought it back so it was basically a new free xbox i bought a 360 on launch day- it was on the verge of breaking..my friend fixed it and modded at the same time the smart thing to do is wait about 8 months after the release so they can get all the bugs out
It is a complete waste buying a new gaming console within the first year of release because the development teams for these first batch of games are still learning how to master the console components in order to make quality and deep games. This is why we see so many bad and choppy games come out at the start. Take a look at NBA Live games for the start or Red Steel. I think I can wait until the price of those consoles go down, because none of them are providing enough quality material just yet for me to dish out that much cash. Blu ray on PS3 for 600 dollars is a good deal considering that the normal Sony players are priced from 2 to 3 thousand. However, after viewing how those players work I'm not too greatly impressed. Sony has always been known to be a dodgy coompany despite their big name so I don't put full trust into them with my cash flow. Wii looks more promising to me at the moment. I like the unique control style you can adapt to games and the originality of their upcoming games has to be something to drool over given they can put it all into full effect. For instance the game where you can take control of an orchestra. How original is that? Question will be if they can pull it off to be a fun experience or if it will flop. So what am I going to do? I'm getting a Nintendo DS, screw wasting money on something that will collect dust for the first year or so. <div class="quote_poster">MainMan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">the smart thing to do is wait about 8 months after the release so they can get all the bugs out</div> Exactly right. I remember the only consoles that ever had many quality games in the first year were Nintendo 64, SNES, NES, and the original black and white Gameboy. In other words more-so trust Nintendo if you came from that era cause I know I would still trust them first despite the huge disapointment the Gamecube was.
