There's a joke in there somewhere. "Number two." Dribbling. Running.

I'm gonna font you guys up.

Hire all the big man coaches you want but what Meyers needs can't be taught. We might have to face the fact that some guys have zero basketball instincts, can't see plays developing, can't anticipate and react. I don't think any amount of coaching will make Meyers go aggressively into contact, be in the right position on defense, or position his body to rebound or block shots.

    A sports psychologist might help......

Maybe Meyers needs to microdose? Or skip the micro - wasn't there some blahsball pitcher who pitched a perfect game while tripping?

    On
Dirt and Spague today at the 1 pm hour they had Mike Richman on from the Oregonian and he seemed to think that Meyers wasn't talking about the fans when he said his confidence reciprocated quote and was actually taking a shot at Stotts and the coaching staff about being yanked to the bench quickly after he makes a mistake compared to his teammates who make mistakes but still play and have a longer leash.

When you consider that Meyers had perfect swish3 shooting against Boston (4 for 4) and the Spurs (3 for 3) this year, and had been compared in 2015 to Kyle Korver and Stephen Curry (Uproxx Dime) when he was 10 for 13 (77%) for 3PA in the playoffs, perhaps there is a question about why they didn't play him more minutes to continue on for the 8 or 9 swish3s per game that he could contribute.

Cause he literally can't do anything else?

Cause he gives up more on defense than he gives us on offense?

Evan Turner has a couple of Massachusetts vehicles in his driveway. Maybe we are trading him back to Boston for their number 1 and Horford? ;)

A Swish3 is when, in the Nation Basketball Association(NBA), a player on the court makes a three point shot and the ball never hits the rim. It goes through the hoop and only touches thenet, which provides a "Swish" sound.
This is more commonly found in 2 point shots, but because it is a much higher percentage shot, the emphasize does not hold weight. However, to make a three point shot and not hit the rim, is a feat deserving of its own name....

    Swish3.

Swish3's inception came when a very skilled man with a lack of confidence logged onto an NBA forum for it's fans that, typically, the players avoid like the plague, as it has been proven that internet fans can be a bit... rabid.
So, said NBA player did not create an account with his own name, a name that would be recognized by most of the population of the city in which he plays for.
He created a moniker and called himself...

    Swish3

Siwsh3 never thought that the people of the forum would be smart enough to put two and two together and come up with 4, but we did.

    That's why Swish3 = 4.

when you are a self-engineered one dimensional player ie a 3pt threat who spaces the floor, and you can't actually do either of those to any great effect, there is no reason for you to be on the floor.

other teams don't respect him on offence and he doesnt really seem to know what to do on D. honestly, wtf is the point of him being out there?

i didnt think it was possible, but i actually dislike him less after that exit interview. still no accountability or understanding why nobody rates him to do anything productive on the court.

i'm sure he's probably a nice guy n all, but holy fuck he's in a bubble....

Orion, swish3 is a strategy based on the 150% scoring power, rather than a narrow definition of the sweet sound from >22 feet. And success with swish3s depends a lot on player confidence, but it is hard to understand how lack of confidence could play into the definition. What can happen to get the 4 is a foul during a swish3, which is even more potent offense.

What seems useful is drawing attention to the growing reliance of winning teams on 13 or more swish3s per game, and that is why I chose the moniker. However, you are welcome to claim the name swish4. From any standpoint, high percentage 3PA shooting is a major strategic asset. More success will follow improved 3 point scoring and is worth pursuing IMO.

The toxic masculinity is saturated in this thread. It's pretty clear to me why suicide is such a problem for men. Troglodytes hold this belief that a man must take responsibility for everything that happens to him, notwithstanding the sheer physical nonsense such a belief entails. As well, real men are winners! Real men succeed! This isn't really the toxic masculinity that ever gets talked about, but it's clear many men suffer for it.

IO get what your saying. Just because Meyers may not cut it in the NBA doesn't mean he is any less of a man. But this isn't a masculinity forum. This is an NBA forum and the guy is claiming to be an NBA player. Most of us here have now come to disagree with this assertion. Some more vehemently than others, but I think the consensus is the NBA is full of men. Meyers is not showing himself to be NBA material... there for he isn't a real NBA man.
