Give me one example of one game winner Butler hit during the 2010-2011. I don't remember that he was the 2nd option...? Uh, Jason Terry scored more points per game than him. They spread out the scoring too, it wasn't like a Dame+CJ thing. You always bang the Aminu drum, so you should know how valuable defense, rebounding, and intangibles are. So why aren't you valuing those when it comes to Kidd, Marion, and Chandler? Oh yeah, because they don't work with your argument, so you selectively choose when you want to value things other than scoring for arguments sake.
The point is that we fell from grace before Wes went down. This argument started because someone said we always play well in the second half of the season under Stotts but in 2014 and 2015, we had a major collapse late in season. That is all.
"Fell from grace"? What does that mean, exactly? We were no longer a great team? We were in a bad stretch? During that 6-11 stretch, we had 1 OT loss, with 8 of the other 10 losses coming by 7 or fewer points. And almost every single one was against a playoff team. We had an insanely tough schedule where we had a couple of plays decide almost every game, that just didn't go in our favor. We weren't "falling apart" until Wes got hurt. That's not a "major collapse" unless you simply just look at record, which you're doing. There's context to every situation.
Makes something up that didn't happen, then says that just because people don't "remember it" doesn't mean it didn't happen, as if it did. Lmao.
Not at all. He had actually just scored 30 against the Spurs in the game before he got hurt. He was their second option. Most people don't remember that because he didn't play in the playoffs. But in the regular season, he was second option in the second unit. It was a big adjustment after he got hurt. They went on a 6 game losing streak right after he got hurt.
We went from a possible one seed to a team that would struggle to get the "4" seed and only because Durant was hurt.
BJ- you were like 14 then and not doing YouTube shows and following Dallas closely like I was. Nothing wrong with that. Don't say I don't know my basketball though.
Yeah, because Wes went down. We weren't at that point before he went down. We were playing our best basketball, and was 3rd in the West right before he went down...
Yes. Right after Caron Butler went down, Dallas lost 6 straight. Blowouts. Caron was their second option and it was a big loss. But they stuck together and won the title anyway.
We had a 5 game win streak before he went down. Too small sample size to say we were going to streak and win the 2 seed especially since we had just got 6-11.
I followed the NBA as closely back then as I do now. You've shown to have trouble understanding the basketball you're following in present time so I don't doubt that you're memory trying to fill in blanks.
So? You're saying we had "collapsed" by the time he went down even though we were 3rd and coming off a 5-game win streak over multiple playoff teams. And you trying to argue about sample size is hilarious. Orlando is a playoff team because they had a good October, correct?
