I think he's gonna stay. I think he'd be a fool to leave. Masai Ujiri is IMO the best GM in the league.

For sake of argument, what if the rumors are true and the Wiz are offering Ujiri part ownership of the team in exchange for his services? Would he take the deal - and if he what effect does that have on Leonard?

I don't think there's any way they let Masai go. The timing of that Woj news drop was not a coincidence. Masai knows what he's doing and he's gonna get PAID

Meh. You really think he'll leave Toronto? I don't.

This. Ujiri will be the highest paid executive in the league.

If it was a better franchise, he might. Ownership interest in an NBA team is a lucrative investment. As @yuyuza1 said, he is going to get paid by somebody.

I think Kawhi ends up signing with the Clippers. I think he's got LaMarcus-itis and wants to go home, and the Clips have the money to pay him. I don't see him going to the Lakers and playing in LeBron's shadow, but that Clippers roster looks pretty good with the addition of Kawhi. I think that winning the title in Toronto makes it easier for him to leave. He gave that franchise a trophy and doesn't owe them anything more.

Especially not for that mess in Washington. The contract they gave Wall screwed them.

He did bounce on Denver though so it's not like he can't just leave a team. I would be surprised though.

Only that it's not. It's a garbage franchise that hasn't done anything in years. It's a shit show.

The only year washington won a championship the Blazers were more decimated by injuries then GS was this year. Portland was dominant that year when healthy (after winning it in 77).

Yes, but I'm just saying he did leave the Nuggets right in the middle of building things so it wouldn't shock me if he at least considered other offers. I did say I'd be surprised if he left though.

Toronto stacked the roster with players who can shoot three pointers and are plus defenders.

So, now comes the question. Was the one year of Kawhi rental, which lead to an NBA title with an asterisk because of KD’s injury, ultimately worth the price?

For me it would... I'd take one championship followed by a decade of ineptitude.

The answer to me is pretty obvious:

If you're a Toronto fan, yes.

If they didn't win it all then the answer would be no.

It really comes down to whether having DeRozan and now Siakim would make the Raptors contenders. My guess is no, so yeah, it looks like it was the right move. If KD stays healthy, then it would have been a bust.
