If you would have told me in January that the Blazers season would still be alive in June, I would have exploded with excitement. We're still in it! Go Blazers!
So from what I gathered the Blazers voted against it because there were other formats that were presented they thought benefitted them more. The players felt like they should vote no on this proposal and yes on another one better for the Blazers. Jody listened to the players and voted the way they asked.
The 8 game conclusion to the season boils everyone's schedule down to just the meaningful games, rewarding Memphis for feasting on weak teams early, and penalizing us and NOP for having many of those opponents down the stretch. That makes Memphis much tougher to catch than they would have with the normal schedule, and further compounds it by having to beat them (or whomever's in 8th) 2 out of 2 games in play-in. Really, NOP should have voted against it, too. I think they had an easier path in than us originally.
The Blazers voted against it because the players, including Dame and CJ, wanted a 20 team format. The Blazers got hosed under the 22 team deal.
Thank the lord above to whoever invented the DVR! Getting ready for the season to comeback! Got like 40 games recorded from earlier in the season.
