He wanted to bet me, he gave some kind of over/under on how long it will last. Can't remember how many games. I think he said it would only last the eight games leading into the playoffs. I'm sure he still feels the same way. A week or two of good results wouldn't sway his resolve that things won't work out.
I didnt see a Blazers return to the NBA thread(maybe I missed it) But I just realized our first game back is on a Friday at 1pm!!! WTH???? Anyone know any reason for this? I can only imagine viewership will be through the roof. Why dont have the games on prime time? I cant take the day off( damn fellow employee has it off that I need to cover) so this is pretty lame. Ptown, getting dissed again.... I bet the Lakers are on prime time.......
It's really just that first game that's bad. The rest that are scheduled are either daytime on weekends or weekdays at 5:00 pm or later. Yeah the Lakers get better scheduling. The team with the best record in the West that plays in the biggest market in the West kind of does get special consideration due to TV ratings. The league has games going all day on weekdays starting at noon (3:00 pm EDT) until 6:00 ( 9:00 pm EDT). Somebody has to take the early time slots, and when you're in 9th place going in you can't whine too much.
Of course I'm going to watch. At this point I'd watch a couple of fat guys in the park playing HORSE.
HA! That's what I'm talking about. Shit, if you're waiting to watch a game until the 31st....... Something ain't right with ya'. On a side note, a bunch of kids have been getting together to run at our neighborhood Irving Park. It's been great, just like me and my friends back in the day. TON of D-1 kids and HS stars. Been taking the dog and a chair up there to watch. Giant reunion going on. Handful of friend's kids even playing. Man I'm getting old. Bunch of my friends have been up there, including Terrell Brandon. I never thought I'd be the old guy talking smack on the sidelines!
