We'd only have $69,244,435 on the books this summer if we waived Simmons or $73,944,435 if we kept him. That would open up a ton of possibilities this summer.
You must like to keep us guessing. How about Portland won't trade CJ unless they can get rid of Turner in the same trade? That would make it difficult for you to come up with CJ trades. Or Portland won't trade CJ if they have to take any excpensive contracts back?
40 million in cap space, and you have me like oh! we can land KD or Kwahi or Butler! The realist in me envisions 2 20 million dollar deals to individuals deserving of 10
I would target Middleton or Brogdon from Milwaukee (or of course inquire for one of the guys you mentioned) and if we just get one we'd basically have replaced CJ while dumping two other bad contracts and getting a potential lottery pick!
Brogdon is so great. He has scored all but two of his free throws this season (over 98% I believe) is and is such an intelligent player. Bucks can match any offer he gets though and unless he gets something crazy like $60million for three years (a team like Atlanta or Kings could do it) they will match anything. I think Milwaukee will want to keep their entire core.
Yeah Brogdon is going to be tough to get. I think 4 years, 80 million isn't super outrageous and would still be cheaper than CJ was. The Bucks have Middleton, Brogdon, Lopez, Eric Bledsoe, and George Hill all as free agents. They might have a tough time picking and choosing which ones. Middleton might be the most "gettable" considering he's a UFA. Maybe you offer Middleton first and if he re-signed with the Bucks make a big offer for Brogdon and force them to match a 2nd big offer. A little bit of that will come down to how they finish the season. If it ended abruptly like with us in 2015, it could change their course.
Am I reading this thread correctly that the suggestion is now that Orlando would desire to trade both a top 10 center and a top ten pick for CJ? That seems like a very high price for them to pay.
No, they would prefer to trade "lesser" parts than Gordon and instead use their pick as the main piece in the trade. The problem is without including Vucevic there are nothing but bad contracts to make it work.
Gordon aint good, and is getting paid too much. Definitely wouldn’t give up CJ for him, this is trading for the sake of it
I like the idea of what Gordon 'could' be. If they were interested in giving up Isaac for CJ, I'd do that in a heartbeat. We'd need to make salaries match but Isaac is dripping in potential.
