No. 6 Texas A&M off to first 4-0 start since 2006

Kenny Hill thrilled for only one half, speedy receiver Jeremy Tabuyo turned two short passes near the sideline into long touchdowns, and sixth-ranked Texas A&M had a nice warmup in North Texas.

The Aggies' return to the area next week isn't likely to be as easy as their 58-6 victory Saturday against SMU, which was playing its home opener after coach June Jones resigned.

Dak Prescott leads Mississippi State to first win at No. 8 LSU since 1991

Dak Prescott's dynamism put a dent in the Death Valley mystique and helped Mississippi State end some long, frustrating streaks.

Prescott passed for two touchdowns and ran 56 yards for another score, and the Bulldogs survived a furious fourth-quarter rally by No. 8 LSU to snap a 14-game skid in the series, 34-29 on Saturday night.

Sony Michel runs for 155 yards, 3 TDs in No. 13 Georgia's rout

Sony Michel and Isaiah McKenzie shared the spotlight, just like their high school days in South Florida.

Michel ran for 155 yards and three touchdowns and McKenzie scored on a punt return as the freshmen led No. 13 Georgia to a 66-0 rout of Troy on Saturday.

No. 14 South Carolina rallies, beats Vandy 48-34

Steve Spurrier now trails only Paul "Bear" Bryant for the most Southeastern Conference wins by a coach. Not that the old ball coach is celebrating a win he called one of the worst he's ever had.

Dylan Thompson threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns, and he ran for another score as 14th-ranked South Carolina beat Vanderbilt 48-34 Saturday night for its third straight victory. But the Gamecocks fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter and didn't put away a team playing the most freshmen in the country until the final minutes.

    Vols dismiss RB Treyvon Paulk

Tennessee has dismissed running back Treyvon Paulk from the team following a police report that he hit a woman in the mouth at a party.

According to a Knox County Sheriff's Office report, Chelsea Reese said Sunday that she was talking with Paulk, who she described as her ex-boyfriend, when an argument ensued. The report states Paulk "became very agitated and struck Ms. Reese in the mouth with his fist" and that Reese had cuts but refused medical treatment.

Missouri Tigers adjust at OL, WR

Plagued by injuries, the Missouri Tigers will unveil a new-look offense Saturday at No. 13 South Carolina.

Brad McNulty is listed atop the depth chart at left guard after fifth-year senior Anthony Gatti tore his right anterior cruciate ligament in the team's 31-27 loss to Indiana last weekend. Connor McGovern will move back to right guard after starting at the position in all 14 games last season.

Dillon Day to miss Texas A&M game

Mississippi State offensive lineman Dillon Day has been suspended one game by the Southeastern Conference for "multiple flagrant and unsportsmanlike acts" during Saturday's 34-29 win over LSU.

The league announced the suspension on Tuesday.

Day was shown on camera stepping on LSU's Davon Godchaux and Rashard Robinson on separate plays. He was not penalized on either play.

Nick Marshall's 3 TD passes lead No. 5 Auburn to rout of Louisiana Tech

Nick Marshall and Quan Bray put a little extra flash in Auburn's hurry-up offense.

No. 5 Auburn twice needed only a minute, give or take a couple of seconds, to score a pair of touchdowns in Saturday's 45-17 victory over Louisiana Tech. Marshall and Bray accounted for three of them.

No. 6 Texas A&M rallies, knocks off Arkansas in overtime

Kenny Hill and No. 6 Texas A&M provided quite a late thrill.

After throwing two long touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, Hill hit Malcome Kennedy for a 25-yard score on the first play of overtime and Julien Obioha made the game-ending defensive stop for the undefeated Aggies in a 35-28 victory over Arkansas on Saturday.

No. 10 Ole Miss routs Memphis, sets up unbeaten showdown with Alabama

Quarterback Bo Wallace slapped Trae Elston on the back as he walked past the safety, and the two exchanged smiles but no words.

Nothing needed to be explained. It was pretty obvious Mississippi's offense owes the defense after an ugly 24-3 victory over Memphis on Saturday.

Todd Gurley rushes for 208 yards, 2 TDs as No. 12 Georgia prevails

Todd Gurley shook off a couple of defenders in the backfield, built up speed down the sideline, and saw another would-be tackler in his path.

The Georgia running back could've lowered a shoulder. He could've stepped out of bounds. Instead, he channeled his former days as a high school hurdler.

    Up and over he went.

"I don't know how high Todd got on that thing," coach Mark Richt marveled. "That was pretty impressive to see right there in front of you. You just shake your head and go, 'Wow.'"

There were plenty of wow moments Saturday, and the No. 12 Bulldogs needed every one of them. Gurley rushed for a career-high 208 yards and two touchdowns, including a 51-yarder in the fourth quarter, as Georgia held off gritty Tennessee for a 35-32 victory.

Harris leads No. 17 LSU past New Mexico St, 63-7

The mere sight of Brandon Harris taking the field for LSU brought a cascade of cheers from Tigers fans who had made it clear they wanted to see more of the freshman quarterback.

The way he played elicited full-throated roars, and will inevitably bring calls for Harris to get the start when LSU returns to Southeastern Conference play at No. 5 Auburn next week.

Harris led LSU to touchdowns on each of his seven series after relieving struggling sophomore Anthony Jennings, and the 17th-ranked Tigers overwhelmed New Mexico State 63-7 on Saturday night.

Russell Hansbrough, Mizzou stage late rally to upend S. Carolina

Gary Pinkel was prepping a different sort of postgame talk midway through the fourth quarter.

The Missouri coach had watched his team struggle offensively and fall behind No. 13 South Carolina 20-7 with less than eight minutes left at sold-out Williams-Brice Stadium.

That's when the Tigers turned things around for a stunning 21-20 victory and a strong start in defense of their Southeastern Conference Eastern Division crown.

Senquez Golson's INT clinches Mississippi's upset of Alabama

Brushing aside a carnival-like atmosphere and Alabama's potent defense, Mississippi quarterback Bo Wallace bounced around in the pocket and threw one perfect pass after another, willing the Rebels downfield in the fourth quarter.

Two touchdown passes and one stunning comeback later, No. 11 Mississippi had a 23-17 victory over No. 3 Alabama on Saturday and asserted itself as a true contender in the Southeastern Conference Western Division.

Dak Prescott accounts for 5 TDs in Miss. State's rout of Texas A&M

Dak Prescott took the snap and saw nothing but empty field between him and the goal line. Instead of handing off the ball, the Mississippi State quarterback decided to take care of it himself, doing just a little bit of a high step as he went into the end zone.

With about 10 minutes left, it was over for Texas A&M.

Prescott threw two touchdown passes, added three Tim Tebow-style TD runs, and No. 12 Mississippi State overwhelmed No. 6 Texas A&M 48-31 on Saturday as a new contender emerged in the SEC West.
