No. 24 Mississippi shuts down No. 15 Texas A&M 23-3

A matchup between two of the most prolific offenses in the Southeastern Conference didn't go nearly as planned.

For Mississippi, that worked out just fine. For Texas A&M, it was downright ugly.

No. 24 Ole Miss used a bruising defensive performance to beat No. 15 Texas A&M 23-3 on Saturday night. The Aggies managed just 192 total yards and never found the end zone.

Laquon Treadwell's TD lifts No. 19 Ole Miss past Auburn

With a defender draped over his back, Laquon Treadwell clutched the ball in both hands as he fell to the ground.

This touchdown, and this game, weren't slipping from the grasp of No. 19 Ole Miss and the Rebels' star receiver.

Treadwell caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Chad Kelly in the fourth quarter and Ole Miss kept its SEC title hopes alive with a 27-19 victory Saturday over Auburn.

No. 10 Florida avoids upset by Vandy, uses late FG to clinch SEC East

Florida is back in the Southeastern Conference championship game for the first time since 2009.

Austin Hardin's 43-yard field goal with 2:22 remaining helped the Gators (No. 10 CFP, No. 11 AP) beat pesky Vanderbilt 9-7 on Saturday and clinch a spot in Atlanta

Arkansas uses lateral play, 2-point conversion to upset Ole Miss in OT

Brandon Allen had already thrown for a career-high 442 yards and six touchdowns when Arkansas coach Bret Bielema asked his senior quarterback to do just one more thing.

To no one's surprise, he delivered.

Allen ran for a game-winning 2-point conversion, leaping past an Ole Miss defender at the goal line, to lead Arkansas to an improbable 53-52 overtime victory over the Rebels (No. 18 CFP, No. 19 AP) on Saturday night.

Auburn ends 2-game skid with 26-10 win over No. 19 A&M

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn wanted to run the ball 50 times against Texas A&M (No. 19 CFP, No. 25 AP) on Saturday night.

The Tigers ended up getting 52 carries and piling up a season-high 311 yards in a 26-10 victory.

Surging Arkansas sinks No. 9 LSU, 31-14

As sure as Arkansas' Alex Collins has blossomed into one of the most explosive running backs in college football, the Razorbacks have become one of the toughest outs in the Southeastern Conference.

Collins ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns and Arkansas scored three times on plays longer than 50 yards en route to its fourth straight victory, 31-14 over LSU (No. 9 CFP, No. 9 AP) on Saturday night.

Florida barely beats huge underdog FAU in OT

Just enough offense and another strong defensive effort was enough to help No. 8 Florida earn its 10th win of the year. Barely.

It was yet another example of two glaring weaknesses -- in the offensive line and kicking game.

Florida was able to overcome both. The Gators (10-1) needed a touchdown pass from Treon Harris to Jake McGee in overtime to turn back upset-minded Florida Atlantic 20-14 on Saturday.

Ole Miss upends LSU for Tigers' third straight loss

Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly was one of the team's biggest question marks three months ago.

Now he's produced one of the best seasons in program history, passing guys like Eli Manning in the school record books in the process.

Kelly threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 81 yards and two touchdowns to lead Ole Miss (No. 22 CFP, No. 25 AP) over LSU (No. 15 CFP, No. 17 AP) 38-17 on Saturday. It was a game dominated by the Rebels except for a short stretch during the third quarter.

Deshaun Watson leads No. 1 Clemson to victory

Deshaun Watson isn't giving up on Clemson's step-by-step approach, not when it's worked so well.

Watson had another big day, running for three touchdowns and passing for a fourth as the No. 1 Tigers capped a perfect regular season and held off rival South Carolina 37-32 on Saturday.

Ole Miss knocks off Mississippi State behind strong first half

Mississippi quarterback Chad Kelly was a little bewildered earlier in the week by Mississippi State's trademark noisemaker, saying he was essentially a city kid who had never even been around a cowbell before.

There were thousands of them clanging in his ears on Saturday night.

The junior never seemed to mind. If anything, he thrived.

Kelly threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score to lead No. 18 Mississippi over No. 21 Mississippi State 38-27 at Davis Wade Stadium.

Prescott, Mississippi State top NC State 51-28 in Belk Bowl

Dak Prescott was determined to put an exclamation point on his impressive career at Mississippi State.

    He did just that Wednesday.

Prescott threw for a Belk Bowl-record 380 yards and four touchdowns on a rain-soaked field in Mississippi State's 51-28 victory over North Carolina State.

Johnson lifts Auburn past Memphis 31-10 in Birmingham Bowl

Jeremy Johnson and Auburn found a measure of redemption and, finally, something to celebrate in their season finale.

The Tigers' former starting quarterback came off the bench to run and pass for touchdowns and the similarly maligned defense contained Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch throughout in Auburn's 31-10 victory Wednesday in the Birmingham Bowl.

Tennessee routs No. 12 Northwestern 45-6 in Outback Bowl

The architect of Tennessee's resurgence won't be happy until the Volunteers are perennial championship contenders again.

Butch Jones, nevertheless, is proud of the progress the Vols have made in his three seasons as coach and confident the program is on solid footing as it moves into 2016.

Friday's 45-6 victory over No. 12 Northwestern in the Outback Bowl not only capped Tennessee's best season in eight years, but showcased some of the young talent that gives the Vols a chance to keep climbing.

Ole Miss offense powers rout of OK State in Sugar Bowl

Mississippi's Chad Kelly was throwing touchdown passes and Laquon Treadwell was catching them in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Friday night.

    No surprise there.

But that touchdown run by 305-pound left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who nimbly grabbed a lateral and jogged untouched into the end zone? That caught a few people off guard -- including an overwhelmed Oklahoma State defense that had no answer for the Rebels.

No. 12 Ole Miss cruised to a 48-20 victory over No. 16 Oklahoma State to help the Southeastern Conference improve to 6-2 in bowl games this season with three teams still playing.

Arkansas motors past Kansas State 45-23 in AutoZone Liberty Bowl

Just in case this ends up being his last college game, Arkansas' Alex Collins made it one to remember.

Collins ran for 185 yards and three touchdowns and Arkansas capped its late-season surge with a 45-23 victory over Kansas State on Saturday in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

Georgia beats Penn State 24-17 in TaxSlayer for 5th straight

After watching Terry Godwin execute the trick play in practice, Georgia interim coach Bryan McClendon was having second thoughts about calling it in the bowl game.

His players and coaches convinced him otherwise.

It may have been the best decision of McClendon's short-lived coaching career.

Godwin threw a 44-yard touchdown pass that got the Bulldogs going and caught a 17-yarder later, doing a little bit of everything in Georgia's 24-17 win over Penn State in the TaxSlayer Bowl on Saturday.

Butch Jones' Volunteers capped off a 9-4 season with an Outback Bowl win against Northwestern, 45-6. But since then, the Tennessee head coach has fully turned his attention to the recruiting trail.
