No. 21 Florida beats Vanderbilt 38-24, loses QB Del Rio

Feleipe Franks lifted his left arm and showed where he scribbled a name in black marker.

Sweat and heavy rain had washed off much of the ink, but the four letters were still faintly visible on his wrist: "Luke."

No. 21 Florida beat Vanderbilt 38-24 on Saturday despite losing starting quarterback Luke Del Rio for the season because of a broken left collarbone. It's a potential crushing blow for a team trying to get to the Southeastern Conference championship game for the third consecutive year.

No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs run for 423 yards, rout Vandy 45-14

Nick Chubb ran for two touchdowns and 138 yards, and fifth-ranked Georgia routed Vanderbilt 45-14 Saturday despite missing three players from the Bulldogs' stingy defense.

Georgia (6-0, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) now is off to its best start since 2005 when the Bulldogs won their first seven games and longest winning streak since reaching the SEC championship in 2012. The Bulldogs also avenged a 17-16 loss to Vanderbilt last year by beating the Commodores for the 20th time in the past 23 games in this series.

Johnson, No. 12 Auburn beat Mississippi 44-23

Kerryon Johnson is enjoying taking his mostly healed hamstring on frequent jaunts to the end zone.

No. 12 Auburn is happily riding along with him. Both continued their hot streaks on Saturday, with Johnson rushing for a career-high 204 yards and three touchdowns and the Tigers beating Mississippi 44-23.

LSU upends No. 21 Florida 17-16 in Swamp

After the clock struck zero, LSU players sprinted toward an end zone and started doing the "Gator Chomp."

Given the team's tumultuous week, this was hardly taunting. It was a sigh of relief.

Danny Etling threw a short touchdown pass in the second half and LSU rebounded from a stunning home loss and beat No. 21 Florida 17-16 on Saturday.

No. 4 Georgia finds running game, beats Missouri 53-28

Georgia coasted through its first three SEC wins, especially on defense.

When the defense finally encountered adversity, a deep running attack took over to lead a near-record night for the offense.

Sony Michel ran for two touchdowns as No. 4 Georgia answered an early scare with 26 straight points to beat Missouri 53-28 on Saturday night.

LSU stuns No. 10 Auburn, riding clutch defense to 27-23 win

LSU coach Ed Orgeron didn't want the game ball, turning down a chance to stick it in the faces of so many critics who think he is in over his head.

Across Tiger Stadium, Auburn fans clustered in the stands near the visitor's locker room voiced their displeasure with coach Gus Malzahn, some yelling audibly that he's "got to go."

Such is life in the Southeastern Conference, where a young LSU team might be changing minds -- and winning back disillusioned fans -- thanks to a pair of gritty victories.

D.J. Chark returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown, Connor Culpkicked field goals of 42 and 36 yards inside the final three minutes, and LSU erased a 20-point deficit on its way to a 27-23 victory over No. 10 Auburn on Saturday.

Guice leads No. 24 LSU over Ole Miss 40-24

Ed Orgeron didn't have many good moments during the three years he was actually employed at Mississippi.

The LSU coach had a great one at the Rebels' expense Saturday night.

Derrius Guice ran for a season-high 276 yards and a touchdown to lead No. 24 LSU over Ole Miss 40-24 in Orgeron's return as a head coach to Oxford. Danny Etling threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns and the LSU defense shut down Ole Miss' usually productive passing game.

Pettway's 3 touchdowns lead No. 21 Auburn past Arkansas

Kamryn Pettway has been forgotten somewhat this season in Auburn's backfield, thanks to the emergence of national rushing touchdown leader and teammate Kerryon Johnson.

The Tigers junior reminded the rest of the Southeastern Conference just how good he can be when fully healthy on Saturday night, rushing for 90 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-20 victory over Arkansas.

No. 3 Georgia thumps rival Florida 42-7 in 'Cocktail Party'

Sony Michel slipped through the line untouched, sprinted past several defenders and then spun into the end zone.

The rout was on, and the losing streak was essentially over.

Michel put third-ranked Georgia up big early and put Florida away late, scoring on two long runs in a 42-7 drubbing Saturday that might have been the final game for Gators coach Jim McElwain. It was Florida's most lopsided loss in the series since a 44-0 shutout in 1982.

Fromm's 2 TD passes lead No. 2 Georgia past Gamecocks 24-10

Georgia coach Kirby Smart didn't want to talk about his team clinching a spot in the Southeastern Conference championship game.

Smart wants his No. 2 Bulldogs, who this week debuted at No. 1 in the College Football Playoff poll, to maintain the focus they showed in protecting their undefeated record.

Jake Fromm proved he can throw -- and block a little, too -- as his two touchdown passes led Georgia to a 24-10 win over South Carolina and the SEC East title on Saturday.

Stidham has 3 TD passes as No. 16 Auburn downs A&M 42-27

When Auburn coach Gus Malzahn has had championship teams in the past he's seen the players take things up a notch this time of year.

In a win over Texas A&M on Saturday he saw that quality in his 16th-ranked team, and it left him feeling encouraged with a huge test looming next week against No. 2 Georgia.

Jarrett Stidham threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns as Auburn pulled away in the second half and cruised to a 42-27 win over Texas A&M.

No. 21 Mississippi State beats UMass 34-23

Mississippi State is one week away from challenging the king of the Southeastern Conference.

The Bulldogs' performance against UMass on Saturday didn't inspire a whole lot of confidence.

No. 21 Mississippi State rallied to beat UMass 34-23, bouncing back from a 20-13 halftime deficit to win its fourth straight game.

Auburn throttles rival Georgia at home, remains in playoff hunt

Kerryon Johnson and the Auburn Tigers delivered an emphatic statement to the rest of the Southeastern Conference: Don't forget us.

The 10th-ranked Tigers emerged from the shadows of the nation's top two teams, riding Johnson and a smothering defense to a 40-17 victory over No. 2 Georgia on Saturday.

Guice, Chark lead LSU past Arkansas 33-10

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron has found the magic potion to solve the "Alabama hangover."

For the second consecutive season, the Tigers bounced back from a loss to their rival Crimson Tide to dominate Arkansas, defeating the Razorbacks 33-10 Saturday in Baton Rouge.

WR Alontae Taylor among Tennessee decommitments after Butch Jones firing

The fallout from Butch Jones' firing at Tennessee includes four decommitments on Sunday.

Under Armour All-America Game wide receiver Alontae Taylor, No. 46 in the Class of 2018, officially decommitted Sunday after Jones was fired. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound playmaker was wavering in recent weeks with the uncertainty surrounding Jones' future in Knoxville.

Among the schools in contention for Taylor include Georgia, Alabama, Louisville, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame.

Taylor, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Volunteer State, follows the state's top-ranked prospect, offensive tackle Cade Mays, in backing off his pledge. Mays decommitted Nov. 7.

In addition to Taylor, receiver Shocky Jacques-Louis out of southwest Florida, defensive back Tanner Ingle and junior college defensive end verbal Dorian Gerald also announced decommitments, dealing a blow to the Volunteers' one-time top 10-ranked recruiting class.

Bring on the Tide: No. 6 Auburn runs past ULM 42-14

    - Auburn players could be forgiven for looking ahead to next week's visit from No. 1 Alabama.

Forgiveness came easy after the Tigers made a strong recovery from their sluggish start against Louisiana-Monroe.

Darius Slayton's 50-yard scoring catch late in the first half gave No. 6 Auburn the lead and the Tigers pulled away for a 42-14 win over ULM on Saturday to set up next week's showdown with the Crimson Tide.
