TRob was a freak'n stud against Love in the win over the Pups. Great energy and played well on both ends. I hope this is his breakout game. Go Blazers
Lillard was huge. Like someone said in the game thread, he would have had 40 if the refs had let him stay on the court. And Nico had a "quiet" 22 points on 9-15 / 3-6 from three; 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and +11.
After the usual horrific 1st quarter defense, the Blazers cranked up the D, fueling the win. Defense rules!
I think this bench is going to surprise some folks by playoff time. TRob was a beast! Nic, Dame and Wes kept us in this game but TRob got a million boards. Will impressed me as well. For those who underestimate Nico....his 22pts 10boards 3 blocks were ....game changing
I'm glad to see Victor getting on the court..he's like Joel..a guy who knows his role and does it well. Underrated defender.
What I absolutely loved was his determination to attack the basket. It is so crucial that he does that.
The game is fun to watch when a lot of guys participate in the win. Our bench has a lot of talent, but we see it only when Stotts gives them playing time. I hope Robinson and Claver keep getting minutes, by saving the starters for the second half.
The biggest difference between this year and last....? Robin. Lopez.
Rolo is such a beast, he's really putting in effort and it shows, he's getting better at everything as the year progresses. Claver can't shoot for anything but I really like his defense and his ability to pass and move without the ball.
Big shoutout to Will Barton for doing what CJ couldn't off the bench against the Spurs..putting points up at a lightening clip. I don't get CJ getting Will's minutes when clearly, Will is the better spark plug at this point.
I wanted to compliment Lillard for taking over the game after LA went down but for some reason his effort did not carry over into the fourth still I am sure it will against the Pelicans
I never understand why the referee misses the initial hook of the arm. If you are watching your competitive matchup in your primary area of jurisdiction you can ALWAYS see it. Now why does the referee miss the initial hook? Because he is either a) watching the ball (which is why they REGULARLY call out of their area) or b) they are not in position to see who is creating contact (a huge reason why they continue to get "tricked" by the floppers) This further illustrates the laziness of NBA referees. Move your feet and get into position to see the play!:MARIS61:
I swear to GOD. I will invite any of you to come watch one of my 6A Varsity Boys games next season. I will tell you my schedule. You will see an exercise in speed and agility. You will always see a referee who is in position to make the call and doesn't guess when he doesn't have an angle. You will see a referee tell a kid to "Get up and stop flopping!". Yes I will tell every one of your kids this right to his/her face. Sorry. Them's the brakes. You will also see a referee who smiles and you understand that he enjoys what he does. These NBA referees are a fucking DISGRACE... Now back to your regularly scheduled programming: I love how Dame plays when LA is out of the game. It's like he understands that he has to put us on his back. He changes internally it seems. His mindset is much more of an attacking one. He begins to snarl and play with more swagger. It will be interesting to see how our Guard rotation looks like without Mo. We will be seeing a LOT more of Lillard Swag.
