No. 21 Texas A&M beats Mississippi State 61-60

Texas A&M guard Alex Caruso spent much of the first half on Wednesday night playing psychologist, telling his teammates to forget the early shooting woes and just keep pushing.

His reasoning was simple: It couldn't get much worse.

He was right -- just barely.

Jalen Jones scored 11 points, including the go-ahead dunk with 20 seconds left, to help No. 21 Texas A&M shake off a bad offensive night and beat Mississippi State 61-60.

Poythress scores 25, No. 9 Kentucky beats Alabama 77-61

The week didn't start off well for Alex Poythress or his teammates.

He was held to four points in the Wildcats' 85-67 loss at LSU on Tuesday night, despite playing 26 minutes. That bad outing didn't seem to affect his confidence on Saturday when he scored a career-high 25 points and No. 9 Kentucky beat Alabama 77-61 on the road.

Jones scores 26 to lead No. 15 Texas A&M over Florida 71-68

Texas A&M didn't enjoy having to fight off Florida until the very last seconds Tuesday night.

However, the 15th-ranked Aggies know that winning games like this will help them as they get deeper into the season.

Jalen Jones scored 26 points and Danuel House added 22 to help the Aggies outlast Florida 71-68 for their seventh straight win.

Jones, Caruso, House lead No. 15 Texas A&M's rout of Georgia

Texas A&M hadn't exactly been dominant in winning its last three games by a combined eight points.

Even so, Alex Caruso sensed that his team was close to putting everything together.

"I was waiting for it," he said. "I knew it was coming."

Jalen Jones, Danuel House and Caruso all scored 12 points and No. 15 Texas A&M won its eighth straight game with a 79-45 victory over Georgia on Saturday.

No. 24 South Carolina beats Mississippi 77-74 in OT

Michael Carrera is one of South Carolina's best players, adept at scoring from 3-point range or in the paint.

The senior might make a pretty good coach someday, too.

The 24th-ranked Gamecocks rallied from a double-digit deficit in the second half to force overtime and beat Mississippi 77-74 on Tuesday night.

Jones scores 20 as No. 10 Texas A&M gets 71-57 win over LSU

Texas A&M's Tyler Davis doesn't command a fraction of the hype that LSU's Ben Simmons does.

That didn't stop Davis from starring Tuesday night when the two freshmen shared a court.

Jalen Jones scored 20 points and Davis tied a season-high with 18 to lead No. 10 Texas A&M to a 71-57 victory over LSU, extending the Aggies' winning streak to nine games.

Tyler Ulis' 24 points lead No. 23 Kentucky past Arkansas

John Calipari is admittedly still searching for the identity of this revamped Kentucky team.

The No. 23 Wildcats coach looked down the roster for an answer following a second early season Southeastern Conference loss at Auburn last week, and he was more than pleased with what he found in an 80-66 win over Arkansas on Thursday night.

Jones scores 20 as No. 10 A&M gets 66-53 win over Missouri

Jalen Jones made sure the Aggies got over those problems after halftime.

Punter gets 36 as Tennessee tops No. 24 South Carolina 78-69

As soon as he made his first shot of the second half, Tennessee's Kevin Punter Jr. knew how the rest of his day would go.

Punter scored a career-high 36 points as Tennessee capitalized on sizzling 3-point shooting in the second half for a 78-69 victory over No. 24 South Carolina on Saturday. Punter scored 27 points in the second half, when he shot 5 of 6 from 3-point range and 12 of 12 from the free throw line.

No. 23 Kentucky rolls past Vanderbilt 76-57

Most satisfying about Kentucky's thorough victory over Vanderbilt was doing so a week after a loss at Auburn left the 23rd-ranked Wildcats looking shaky in many areas.

Their mission now is maintaining their solid performance through even more challenges.

Tyler Ulis scored 21 points, Jamal Murray added 18 and Kentucky shot 64 percent in the second half to cruise past Vanderbilt 76-57 on Saturday. The Wildcats not only earned their second straight win since blowing a double-digit lead in that 75-70 loss to the Tigers, they were complete in nearly facet.

No. 20 Kentucky blows out Missouri, 88-54

After looking somewhat wobbly a couple of weeks ago, No. 20 Kentucky appears to have regained its footing and is even playing with an edge.

Credit soft-spoken junior forward Derek Willis for giving the Wildcats another option that has brought a little more swagger.

Tyler Ulis scored 20 points, Willis added a career-best 18 and Kentucky used an early 20-0 run to blow past outmanned Missouri 88-54 on Wednesday night.

Dusty Hannahs had heard just about all he could handle regarding Arkansas' woes in close games this season.
