No. 22 Auburn rallies to beat Mississippi St 76-68

Auburn basketball is on such a roll that guard Bryce Brown is having a hard time keeping track of how many games the Tigers have won in a row.

"It's 14, right?" Brown asked. "We're just trying to enjoy this as much as possible."

Indeed, it's been 14 straight wins for No. 22 Auburn, and the latest 76-68 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday put the Tigers into sole possession of first place in the Southeastern Conference.

Silva leads Gamecocks to 76-68 win over No. 18 Wildcats

Kentucky coach John Calipari thought his freshmen looked like freshmen for the first time all season. South Carolina's Chris Silva continued to look like a major force in the Southeastern Conference who led the Gamecocks' dramatic second-half comeback against the Wildcats.

Silva tied his career high he set earlier this month with 27 points as South Carolina (12-6, 3-3 SEC) rallied from 14 points down in the second half to top No. 18 Kentucky 76-68 on Tuesday nigh

Missouri uses late run to beat No. 21 Tennessee 59-55

Tennessee cut Missouri's lead to one with 1:33 left, and the Tigers were forced to do something they've struggled with all season: close out a game.

Unlike two recent last-second conference losses, Missouri sealed one up Wednesday night, holding on to beat No. 21 Tennessee 59-55.

Brown scores 28, No. 17 Auburn rallies to beat Georgia

Coming off a loss to archrival Alabama and trailing by double digits at halftime for the third time in four games, No. 17 Auburn never panicked and let the home crowd spark another second-half comeback.

Bryce Brown scored 28 points, and Auburn rallied in the second half to beat Georgia 79-65 on Saturday.

Florida rallies to upset No. 18 Kentucky 66-64

Florida worked through ugly play for much of the night against No. 18 Kentucky, and the persistent Gators eventually made the necessary shots to go ahead before holding on with several big defensive plays.

On both ends of the floor, Jalen Hudson came up big.

Hudson came off the bench to score 17 points, and Chris Chiozza, Keith Stoneand Kevarrius Hayes contributed clutch baskets down the stretch as Florida rallied to upset the Wildcats 66-64 on Saturday night.

Turner's 25 leads No. 21 Tennessee past South Carolina

After a listless performance in a loss to Missouri, Tennessee coach Rick Barnes told his players it was going to be a long season if they couldn't get points off the bench.

Lamonte Turner didn't start but matched his career high with 25 points, and reserve forward Derrick Walker added 10 to help the 12th-ranked Volunteers (13-5, 4-3 Southeastern Conference) to a 70-63 win over South Carolina on Saturday night.

No. 22 Tennessee hangs on to beat Vanderbilt 67-62

Tennessee guard Jordan Bowden disagreed with his coach's assessment this week that the sophomore guard wasn't slumping.

He made sure to break out in a big way on Tuesday night.

Bowden scored 19 points and shot 5 of 7 from 3-point range as Tennessee built a 20-point second-half lead before hanging on for a 67-62 victory over Vanderbilt.

Kentucky shows signs of growth with comeback win at No. 7 West Virginia

A week ago, Kentucky coach John Calipari opened up his postgame news conference -- following a two-point home loss to Florida which would eventually lead to the Wildcats falling out of the top 25 for the first time in nearly four years -- by saying, "We're going to be fine."

Calipari, despite the flaws his young, talented squad has shown at multiple points this season, was still confident that the growth he wanted to see was happening.

It was fair to question that assessment a week later, because for a significant chunk of Saturday night's barnburner at No. 7 West Virginia, the Wildcats were a mess. They committed 11 first-half turnovers. They trailed by 17 points with 17 minutes to go. As Jevon Carter and James Bolden drained 3-pointers left and right and the raucous home crowd reached fever pitch, it seemed like it might be too much for Kentucky.

Instead, the Wildcats proved Calipari prescient.

After a mistake-filled start, Kentucky regrouped and pulled off its most impressive victory of the season, an 83-76, come-from-behind road triumphover the Mountaineers that showed the Wildcats are growing up.

Alabama slows Trae Young, stuns No. 12 Oklahoma 80-73

Alabama coach Avery Johnson said he'll throw three or four different defensive looks at an opposing team during a typical game.

Oklahoma -- and its freshman sensation Trae Young -- got seven of them.

Not all of them worked, but most of them did. The result was one of Young's worst offensive games of the year and an 80-73 upset victory for the Crimson Tide over No. 12 Oklahoma on Saturday in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

Heron scores 21 points, No. 19 Auburn routs LSU 95-70

After coming out flat in its previous two home games, Auburn gave the crowd plenty to cheer about right from the start Saturday.

Mustapha Heron had 21 points on 8-for-10 shooting as No. 19 Auburn cruised to a 95-70 win over LSU, maintaining sole possession of first place in the Southeastern Conference.

Brown leads No. 11 Auburn over Mississippi 79-70

Auburn was struggling to put away a mediocre Mississippi team in the second half when Bryce Brown made a crucial 3-pointer to give the Tigers a little separation.

The smooth-shooting junior was just getting started.

Brown made several crucial shots down the stretch, scoring 19 of his 23 points in the second half to lead No. 11 Auburn over Ole Miss 79-70 on Tuesday night.

Maten has 20 points to power Georgia past No. 23 Florida

The repeated misses were bad for No. 23 Florida.

The failure to rebound them made the offensive struggles even more painful.

Yante Maten scored 20 points and Georgia recovered after blowing a halftime lead to beat the Gators 72-60 on Tuesday night.

No. 21 Kentucky beats Vanderbilt 83-81 in overtime

After No. 21 Kentucky rallied to force overtime against Vanderbilt, guard Quade Green wasn't surprised he was able to split through two defenders to make the winning basket.

"I just saw an open layup," said Green, whose layup with five seconds left in overtime gave the Wildcats an 83-81 win over the Commodores on Tuesday night.

No. 18 Tennessee trounces LSU 84-61 for 4th straight win

Tennessee's bench strength enabled the Volunteers to survive the temporary absence of their leading scorer.

Once Grant Williams returned from an injury, the Vols breezed to their fourth straight victory.
