Vescovi scores 23, No. 18 Vols rally past Florida 78-71

After 35 years in the coaching business, Tennessee's Rick Barnes has just about seen it all.

But when the 18th-ranked Volunteers went through a five-minute stretch in the first half in which they didn't attempt a shot and committed seven turnovers — and still beat Florida, 78-71 — it left Barnes shaking his head.

Ruffin, Rodriguez help Ole Miss hold off No. 25 LSU, 76-72

Mississippi had a 24-point lead in the first half and Daeshun Ruffin scored 19 points before leaving the game with a right leg injury with 12 minutes left.

Then Ole Miss went cold from the floor, scoring only on free throws for nearly 10 minutes and watching its lead get trimmed to two in the final minutes. But the Rebels still held off a reeling No. 25 LSU 76-62 on Tuesday night.

Chandler, Nkamhoua lead No. 22 Tennessee past Texas A&M

It's been a while since Olivier Nkamhoua established his presence on the court.

In his last three games, Tennessee's 6-foot-8 junior had a combined 15 points. Tuesday night, Nkamhoua scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help the No. 22 Volunteers (15-6, 6-3 Southeastern Conference) beat Texas A&M 90-80.

Tennessee led by as many as 13 in the first half. With just over 8 minutes left in the game, the Aggies (15-7, 4-5) trimmed the difference to 60-59. That's when Nkamhoua took a big step forward and connected on a jumper from the free throw line. That basket started a 16-2 run. A tip-in by John Fulkerson and a pair of 3-pointers by Justin Powell were critical in that spurt.

Mintz has 21 points, No. 5 Kentucky beats Vanderbilt 77-70

Kentucky had to fight for everything it got against Vanderbilt, and Davion Mintz helped deal the biggest blow for the No. 5 Wildcats.

Mintz scored a season-high 21 points off the bench, hitting a 3-pointer during a pivotal 11-2 run, and Kentucky overcame nearly blowing a double-digit lead and its cool to survive Vanderbilt 77-70 on Wednesday night for its third consecutive victory.

Tshiebwe, No. 5 Kentucky top South Carolina 86-76 for 20th W

Kentucky coach John Calipari has his eyes on March. And that's why he didn't mind his team losing a big lead before its latest win.

Oscar Tshiebwe posted his sixth straight double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds and TyTy Washington scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half as the fifth-ranked Wildcats beat South Carolina 86-76 Tuesday night.

Hog wild! Unranked Arkansas upsets No. 1 Auburn 80-76 in OT

Auburn came onto the Bud Walton Arena court acting like a No. 1 team, dancing on the Arkansas logo before the game.

When it was over, the Razorbacks and all their fans were the ones doing a victory stomp — led by a shirtless coach going hog wild.

JD Notae scored 28 points and unranked Arkansas used clutch foul shooting in overtime to knock off top-ranked Auburn 80-76 Tuesday night.

Tshiebwe scores 27 in No. 5 Kentucky's win over Florida

Oscar Tsbiebwe seemingly hasn't been distracted by his candidacy for National Player of the Year honors, considering the Kentucky standout continues to go about his business on the court.

Tshiebwe scored 27 points and had 19 rebounds to lead No. 5 Kentucky to a 78-57 win over Florida on Saturday.

    Grady's 25 spark No. 4 Kentucky's rally past No. 25 Alabama

Knowing his team would have to do more with less meant Kellan Grady needed to take his offense up a notch, at the very least.

That urgency resulted in a career day for the Kentucky guard, with his perimeter shooting providing a big spark for the No. 4 Wildcats.

Grady made seven 3s for a season-high 25 points, Oscar Tshiebwe added 21 points with 14 rebounds and Kentucky rallied twice to top No. 25 Alabama 90-81 on Saturday.

Appleby takes over, Florida rallies past No. 2 Auburn 63-62

Tyree Appleby found himself swarmed by students, fans and teammates at midcourt. It was the first time a scene like that unfolded at the O'Connell Center in more than 30 years.

Appleby was right in the middle of it, enjoying every second in the spotlight. He probably should have been lifted onto someone's shoulders, too.

Appleby scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half, Colin Castleton added 19 and Florida rallied to beat No. 2 Auburn 63-62 Saturday to extend its home dominance in the series. It was Florida's first home victory against a team ranked that high in the Associated Press college basketball poll.

Quinerly leads No. 24 Alabama to 74-72 win over Vanderbilt

Jahvon Quinerly got the message Alabama coach Nate Oats sent by bringing the junior guard off the bench.

Quinerly responded, scoring 17 of his 19 points after halftime to help the 24th-ranked Crimson Tide rally from a nine-point deficit in the first half and hold off Vanderbilt 74-72 Tuesday night.

Arkansas 82, Florida 74: Razorbacks rip one away from Gators

When Florida’s Colin Castleton drew a fourth foul on do-everything Arkansas big man Jaylin Williams with just under eight minutes to play on Tuesday night in Gainesville, the Gators led the Razorbacks by five; Castleton converting the and-one opportunity immediately afterward gave the Gators their first six-point lead in the game since a flurry of threes in the early goings, and capped an 8-2 run.

And with their season on the line, Florida could do little to stop the Hogs from answering both that run and the bell.

Arkansas immediately swiped back the lead with a 7-0 run over their next three offensive possessions, stole it back after two more Castleton points at the line briefly put Florida in front moments later, and used big shots to defend it when the Gators threatened down the stretch, with a J.D. Notae three with 1:10 to play putting the Hogs up multiple possessions for good and allowing them to hang on for an 82-74 win — their first in Gainesville since 1995.
