My recollection is that they didn't want to give up Chandler.

Or.... how about Danilo Gallinari? Supposedly the Nugs are looking to trade him.
We could offer them cap space, and throw in everybody's favorite throw-in, Vonleh. Or if they're just trying to offload him, this.

I actually really like this idea: Gallo is the opposite of Batum in temperament, and while nothing like the defender, is similarly multi-talented on O, only with much more confidence. He's on a sub-12 M contract. He's a FA next summer, but the cap goes up, and that also means that if he has a recurrence of injuries, you're off the hook. He's a player I could get excited about.

I like him but is he that much better than Dunleavy? Dunleavy would come cheaper.

The dude is perpetually injured. Quite talented and a better version of Batum, but often injured. Pass.

But he's not injured now, is he? And he's a pretty low risk, given that he's a FA next summer.

We have the space to take on Joe Johnson. He is expiring... Next summer we could have a lot of space again. He can still play too.

rather spend cap on a guy who we can sign for 3-4 years, not waste 10-12 mil even for a yr on a guy who is a UFA next yr

    He still puts up 14/5/4

Hes a good player just overpaid got one more season and we have the room to deal with that.

I like Harris at PF if LMA leaves. It'd be going with that small ball trend. If Meyers can play center, and we could find a way to get Khris Middleton as well imagine how spaced the floor would be. You could give Harris and Middleton the max, and we'd still have cap space to sign DeMarre Carroll for 2 years, $12M with a team option.
    PG Lillard (36) / Frazier
    SG Middleton (32) / McCollum (27)
    SF Carroll (30) / Henderson (23)
    PF Harris (30) / Vonleh (8)
    C Meyers (30) / Plumlee (28)
Having Carroll and Middleton lock down the wings would put less pressure on Meyers to defend the paint. Having three 40% shooters in Meyers, Carroll, and KM would open up the lanes for Dame, CJ, Henderson, and Harris would have tons of room to attack other power forwards off the dribble. That's a potential 2nd round team, and if not you'd still have $20-35M in cap space to build around the great young core of Lillard, Harris, Middleton, Plumlee, McCollum, Leonard, and Vonleh.

Hell, I say offer Harris $15M and Middleton the max ($16M) on the first day. If Aldridge wants to come back you trade Henderson for a pick, don't sign Carroll and you'd be able to max Aldridge out. You'd start Middleton and Harris at the wings.

Got more than 48 minutes/position there. Even if you move the numbers around, you still have an excess of 28 (can't remember where exactly). I like your plan though. Huge fan of Middleton, would very okay to have Carroll, and I think that is attractive to Aldridge. And if he leaves, Harris at least keeps us somewhat competitive.

It's based off the main rotation spot and minutes each guy plays, but yeah you're right, I have an extra 4 minutes.

    Here's it edited:
    PG Lillard (35) / Frazier
    SG Middleton (31) / McCollum (26)
    SF Carroll (30) / Henderson (22)
    PF Harris (30) / Vonleh (8)
    C Meyers (30) / Plumlee (28)

CJ would play SG/PG, Henderson SF/SG, and Meyers would play C/PF

    it evens out to:
    PG Lillard (35) / CJ (13) Frazier
    SG Middleton (31) / CJ (13) / Henderson (4)
    SF Carroll (30) / Henderson (18)
    PF Harris (30) / Vonleh (8) / Meyers (10)
    C Meyers (20) / Plumlee (28)

I think a 2 of Middleton, Harris and Carroll will be in play. That's enough to bring LA back
