If you could make a teacher's salary playing ball would you? I certainly would.

Absolutely, and the NBA minimum salary for a player with 6 years experience is about 40x the average teacher's annual salary.

So, go Ike! I wasn't a fan of his game during his brief time in POR, but I'm actually rooting for him to make someone's roster. I tend to root for the underdog.

If Ike makes an NBA roster, I think @SlyPokerDog should change his username to SlyPokerDiogu.

It's ironic that you say this considering the vitriol you say about Crabbe. From your standpoint he should be the 'underdog' you tend to root for.

Anyone looking to root for an underdog.
The only way he becomes an underdog with that kinda money is if he has a career ending injury and works his way back.

The guy is 25 years old with three years left on the $75 million contract he signed last summer. He really doesn't need me pulling for him. He's set for life. He'll be fine. He will make more this season before the all star break than the 34-year old Diogu has made in his entire career.

Making an NBA roster after six years out of the league at the age of 34 would be a Cinderella story. Getting overpaid and then underperforming isn't.

So I guess when the Blazers play the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals no one can say they are rooting for the underdog since Crabbe, Turner, Dame, CJ, Harkless, Meyers (and Nurk) all make over $10 million dollars.

    Right?

Wrong. Apples to Oranges. One is a Team sport and one is an individual.

Crabbe was an underdog when he was working for that contract. He was paid little, and typically have to work hard at getting the big contract. He has limited skills, so he was an underdog to nail a big contract, but he did. His time as an underdog has long since passed the moment he signed with the 76ers, or whoever it was, that forced us to match. He nailed us to the wall and thus became a target. NOT an underdog.
