Fuck the Rockets they have nothing to trade for Carmelo let's get him ourselves. I've been on team Melo in past arguments on here and still feel he has something good to offer.

Yes please on getting him here. Worst case, he leaves after this year, and we perhaps shed Meyers deal.

One of their beatwriters said NY is targeting Harkless as a key player in the package they want. This was tweeted during the HOU/POR/NY rumors though.

Knowing that our rookies can't be traded until December - I'm fine with the idea of Melo.

It keeps Houston from getting better and we consolidate the roster to give Swanigan and Collins a chance to develop.

We would lose Harkless, but he's worth the risk

I've been saying this all along! Fuck Houston. If Knicks want Harkless etc, send Melo to US. At this point Neil knows Melo doesn't want to stay in NYC. Come to Portland, Melo!!

Fans will get over loosing Harkless like they got over loosing Batum. Life goes on and so does basketball.

Our rookies can be traded 30 days after signing their deal, unless it changed in the new cba, but I don't believe it has. Different than free agents

Melo has 2 years 54 million left on his contract. The second year is a player option, so theoretically he could (and probably would be) a one and done. If we could unload Leonard or Turner in the deal, it would be much more ideal than taking Anderson and his 3 guaranteed years.

Should someone create a new thread about the Blazers wanting in on Carmelo sweepstakes?

    Hello darkness, my old friend
That could be true, but I'd be wary of drawing too many conclusions from his Olympic performance--he's playing much weaker competition there. Most teams have at best a few NBA players. The gap has closed a bit over time since the days of the Dream Team, but the US is still way ahead in terms of overall basketball talent and the world's talent gets fragmented across a bunch of teams.
