Three championship rings with Dame, Nurk and CJ should ensure induction the first time around.

Just a quick comment on Crabbe waiving his trade kicker to go to the Nyets, since it was mentioned a bunch when it happened: I don't think it was a big deal at all. (1) If he stayed in Portland, he doesn't get the trade kicker anyway; (2) By waiving something he wasn't going to get, he got to go to a team he wanted to go to, and be in a role he wanted as a primary option. If not, not.

They also don't seem to realize POR has the assets to get the deal done without including Meyers Leonard. We may WANT to include Leonard, but we don't have to.

In order for HOU to get the salaries to match, they either have to include Ryan Anderson (29) or Eric Gordon (29) + Trevor Ariza (32). NYK want NONE of those guys and HOU can't make the salaries match without including at least one of them.

The thing that cracks me up the most is they think just because HOU and NYK have reopened talks that a deal is imminent. They still don't have anything the Knicks want and with so many teams using up their cap space (BRK, ORL, MIA, LAL, MIN, IND, UTA, etc.) the likelihood of finding a third team capable of, let lone willing to, absorb Anderson's contract have gone down dramatically in the last month.

They probably "reengaged" just to show Anthony one more time that there's nothing that can be done.

"We talked to Houston, they don't have any assets, so please accept a deal to Portland."

Not a big deal for Crabbe, but it was a big deal for POR. If he wouldn't have waived it, the trade might not have happened, and even if it did, it would not have been as favorable. Crabbe wanted to go to BRK, so he would have a chance to start. He wanted that last summer when he signed the BRK offer sheet and he wanted it this summer when he agreed to waive his trade kicker. In the end, he still got a huge contract and ended up where he wanted to be.

I really wonder if NY and Portland are playing the long con with Melo.

    That place is a goldmine...

For the record, Eric Gordon's best season in the NBA was 22.3 ppg, with a PER = 18.5 on a TS% of .563. And that was 7 years, multiple teams and several injuries ago.

C.J. last season = 23.0 ppg, with PER = 19.9 and TS% = .585. C.J. is better today than Eric Gordon was 7 years ago - and C.J. is still improving.

    The bigger question is:

If Melo is traded to Portland, will you become a fan?

Yes. I've always thought he was overrated and selfish with the ball. But, there is no denying that he is a very talented offensive player, and I think he would thrive with two other very talented offensive players around him and a big guy that can set screens and pass the ball.
