Didn't Jordan end Anthony's shoe contract? Maybe he wants in with Addidas?

As long as the expectations are realistic then i can see that.

People are acting like we expect Melo to come in and be our best player.

It seems as though people are calling him out as a "cancer" more than anything else. He doesn't seem to be a cancer right now for Houston. A bad fit sure. But he definitely is not being a cancer. He also was not a cancer on the Thunder. They all seemed to get along just fine but the money and fit was not there. At the end of his time in New York it got a little bad but i think that happens with most players when they are unhappy and who can argue that New York put a great team together at any point around him?

If you keep the expectations down to a realistic point and the money doesn't hurt the Blazers you figure Stotts and the team have enough identity to handle a player and use him the way he could be valuable. The thing is Melo still needs to be guarded. No team can just leave him alone on the arc and hope he misses. They will have to put a guy on him and keep him from scoring. Against certain teams at certain times that could be valuable.

I really don't care if he comes one way or another. But i had to post and keep this thread going!

He’s not a two way player so he doesn’t deserve a minimum contract yet alone minutes.

Another use for Melo that could help would be on the special inbound plays at end game situations. He is savvy and has the size to inbound the ball well. Then he has to be respected as a shooter as teams will have to guard the player inbounding the ball.

Melo is not good enough to warrant almost a 500 page thread!

I think it's more about the extra fiber.

After all this 'fiber', the 'crap' should be long gone.

If thats your outlook then why get Melo, why not bench Dame and CJ and just start Simons and Trent and develop them. You’ll know more about your future seeing if they can play and you’ll get a lottery pick.

You realize he's not gonna come here if he's not gonna play, right?

You realize that if he comes here and plays like shit, Stotts won't play him?

Yeah and at the end of the year he can leave. He really would not be a problem and might actually help some of the younger guys? Who knows what is going on in his head? Too many comments on here saying things about what he is thinking and what he wants. People on this thread do not know what is in his head.

In days gone by i would put in the time and prove that this statement is totally baseless. But it's just not worth it. You don't want Melo here. We get that.

Meyers has been playing decent enough. But I also think there was pressure from the front office to try to continue to develop our $10 million per year man.
