Actually, I think most people fear he will have the same impact he had for the Thunder and Rockets.

That's pretty much it. But i don't really care one way or another. Thing is he is now a minimum contract. And expectations have dropped. There are things he can do still and giving it a shot could help out? Might not but what's the loss in trying? Pretty much nothing at this point.

Chemistry wise, it could be a disaster. The second units success has been built on ball movement and that's the opposite of Melo.

I don't think it has as much to do with development as much as it is trying to build any semblance of value.

Well he hasn't been bad chemistry wise in the last two stops and i wouldn't think it would be any different here. But yes that could always happen with any player added mid season. I just don't think Melo is anything more than an old player trying to finish out his career in a positive light. Can't see him coming in and demanding the ball or trying to take over things. Just too much experience for that.

How can you say he hasn't been bad chemistry wise? Why did both teams get him out of town as quickly as possible as well as Knicks were trying to move him for some time but couldn't with the no trade clause. Chemistry isn't just about getting along, as it also pertains to style of play and a ball stopper like Melo disrupts a flow offense where the ball is shared.

Honestly. WTF? Look at what happened at his last two stops. On supposed contenders. But it will work out in Portland. Because, because. Right.

I guess i consider chemistry more about interpersonal relational type stuff.
I also disagree that style of play relates to chemistry. He got along fine with the players on the Thunder. They just couldn't keep that contract. Then look at all the comments from the Rockets. They have said absolutely nothing negative about Anthony. DeAntoni just can't figure out how to use the guy. My bet is Stotts would do better. Harden Is a ball stopper also. Not to mention Westbrook and his problems. It ain't all Anthony in my opinion.
Then we are again talking about a minimum contract for a future Hall of Fame player. But i will go back to my original statement i could care less if he comes here or not. He isn't gonna win this team a championship and he isn't going to keep them away from one either. Melo needs to retire.

That's half the fear...and it is perfectly legit. The other half is that Blazer defeats so far have been largely about *defense* - and no one in their right mind thinks Melo is an asset on that end!

But it’s also not out of the question that the bench “regresses.” There’s quite a few unproven players on that unit. And the closing unit could still use another scorer, just for the sake of how teams choose to defend them.

Carmelo sighted at the airport! But, he was detained after his terrible stats with the rockets were found in his carry on.
