I hear that on the radio a lot, and read it in here, and i call bullshit. Those players, he was supposedly taking shots away from, would be peeing their pants if put in the same position. Our young guys just weren't ready. Academy, & One & Done'ers take time to develop. Ant is starting to make big shots, but still was not great in the clutch. Nas is getting there too, but wasn't ready. Hopefully BOTH, are ready to be consistent contributors this season.

    Well…on those notes…

    Let’s shut her down!

wish we could have had Melo several years back in his career. I enjoyed him as a Blazer and I’m sure he’ll contribute to the Lakers - maybe even get a ring.

Melo was terrible in the clutch last year:

    31% FG's. Averaged 19.3 points on 20.7 shots...that's ugly

Hallelujah. Thank God it’s over. LOL. Melo and Westbrook. Laker meltdown should be fun to watch next year.

Melo played 1700 minutes in the regular season. He put up 25 or more points in just 3 of those games. Scoring was all he was able to do, and he really didn't do it that well or efficiently.

Nas played 640 minutes and had a 30 point game--more than any game Melo played all year. And he was actually somewhat useful on defense.

I think it's really hard to argue that Melo didn't stall his development. I'm glad to see him gone. We were the last guys to invest in Kodak. The anti-vaxer in the hospital bed on the ventilator refusing to believe. It was musical chairs and we decided to see what happens if you stand.

Hanging on to Melo was not as dumb as handing Damon Stoudamire the reigns those many years ago, or retaining Mo Cheeks, or offering Hedo Turkoglu a near max contract, or handing Evan Turner $55m, but in the Blazers catalog of stupidity it was certainly more than footnote.

Trust me we did a lot better with Melo on the court down the stretch of games than ANYTHING these "GUYS" would have done. Thats just how poor the options were.

If so that would be Lebron and AD. Not Melo. LOL. So glad to see the Lakers going the ball-hogging washed-up high-ego player route.

The only thing I would disagree on; Melo did not stall Little's development, Stotts and Olshey did that. Because of that we don't really know what we have in Little as Olshey ponders trade offers.

If the Lakers do end up looking back at us in the standings it won’t be because we lost Melo and they got him. They already have a head start on us with Lebron and AD. Also Lebron is not one to give a care about regular season standings anyway especially compared to the Blazers. All he cares about now is ring or no ring. Me thinks he won’t get one with this team not even close. They were better two years ago. To many scorers now, where before they had Lebron, AD and defenders. I don’t expect they will be that great this year. There’s a chance we will be looking back at them.

I completely disagree with this statement because Melo helped the development of Nas, Trent and Ant for two years in the practice facility...Melo was a great mentor to them and that's helping their development, not stalling it. He sat with all three of those guys on the bench and coached them ...all 3 benefited from Melo being a Blazer...they'll all praise him for that and have...Trent talked about it often...Melo didn't set the rotations...Terry did.

After Melo wins nothing with the Lakers and retires perhaps we could change it to "Hall-Of-Famer/Portland Trailblazer Carmelo Anthony appreciation thread"

Preferably not just winning "nothing" but creating as much controversy with the Lakers as he did with Houston please.
Then we can really appreciate his work with an appreciation thread.

Lakers ain’t winning shit this season. They lost in first round, LeBron is old, and then they made trades and signings that made them even older. Anyone who understands the game can see this.

    Like they did last year?

    Playoff Teams:

    1. Utah
    2. Phoenix
    3. Denver
    4. LA Clippers
    5. Dallas Mavericks
    6. Portland Trail Blazers [eyes looking down]

    *******
    Lowly Play-in Tournament:

    7. LA Lakers
    8. Golden State
    9. Memphis
    10. San Antonio

Lakers needed lucky three by LeBron to beat Warriors in play-in. Lakers roster is worse this year. Ours is the same with potential to improve in trade.
