Melo needs to start and Lebron should come off the bench!

Meaningless stat line since his team got murdered while he was out there.

Ahhhh, ok. So as long as I know the guidelines. OFFENSE doesn’t mean anything if you can’t play DEFENSE as well. Gotcha. Tell the Hall of Fame that son.

Did I say anything about defense? Just saying then team was a negative while he was out there. As for the Hall of Fame, Melo will be in there but not because of the player he is now. The player he is now can't even win 6th Man of the Year.

    0-4 so far tonight
Seeing as he plays for the Lakers, I’d say he’s doing a wonderful job!

We look like garbage though, so I still wish he was here.

This thread is like a blurry picture to me at this point.

$10 to whoever goes back and reads everything and counts how many fights and how many different topics of discussion happened in this epilogue.

Hold on, so you are saying that the Hall of Fame looks at a players COMPLETE WHOLE career and not just their last season or so? Really?

The Blazers only got "his last season or so." The Lakers don't even get that. None of us have been talking about his whole career--we've been saying he was terrible with the Blazers and he remains a terrible player.

Lots of Hall of Famers are terrible at the ends of their careers. Melo's just playing out the string.

I just posted that because Jinx felt he needed to inform me that Melo will not make the Hall based on his 2 years with Portland. Outstanding take by him don’t you think.

I think you're misinterpreting him. He's not saying "The last two years aren't Melo's Hall of Fame case." He's saying that while Melo may be a Hall of Famer, it's for the level of player he was years ago--him being a "Hall of Famer" means nothing in relation to rostering him in the present. It's like saying that it would be awesome to sign Michael Jordan as a core rotation player, because he's a Hall of Famer. Responding "Yeah, but not for his play the last two decades" would be a reasonable response.

I’m so confused. Did he at some point think I think that Melo is currently paying at a hall of fame level? Why am I asking YOU this. Sorry.

I think it was your "Tell that to the Hall of Fame" comment when Eric was discussing Melo's game right now. It made it sound like you were basically saying, "Your criticism of his game today is invalid because scoreboard [Hall of Fame]." So he responded "That's meaningless when talking about right now, because he's not getting in the Hall of Fame for his play right now."

Just trying to untangle the argument you two were having, since you did ask!

Melo will be 38 in this years playoffs. How many NBA players are playing at 38? I'd imagine less than 5%, probably close to 1-2%. Its actually impressive he can do anything at his age. But some fans and posters acting like what he was able to do a dozen years ago matters at all now are living in the past.

6th man if the year??!! That’s a wild stretch that it even entered your mind in the first place to be soundly rejected.

Melo was not terrible for the Blazers. I wish he was still on the team! Give me a list of players on this miserable squad better!

Be careful, they will all tell you how bad he is on defense and his offense doesn't matter, Nance will replace it.
