Heres a question kind of on a tangent here..Did we need to spend $150 Billion dollars on a war in Vietnam that we really had no bussiness being in? I think the Vietnam war is similar to the current Iraqi war..
We would have won the War in Vietnam if it wasn't for the lack of support back at home. The same situation is starting to happen here, where we are winning the War in Iraq but the media and the politicians are trying to make it look like we are losing. They want the public to lose support of the war so we pullout.
Iraq is a breeding ground for future terrorists and anri-American thinking, I think we'll soon find out that the we're worse off after the war.

If it weren't for the media and this country uniting against our government's bad choice I wouldn't have been born. And Vietnam turned out to be fine afterall. We are winning the Iraq War? How? Because we build 2 f*cking schools yesterday or something? Give me a break, the war is neverending and we can't do anything to stop the violence, let Iraq get it's goverment organized and let's get out of there before Bush's term is over.
I have an uncle that was in Vietnam. And actually, we won the War in Iraq. The War is over and it wasn't even close.
They don't know what they are talking about, because the War is over. We won the war. We knocked Saddam and his regime out of power with ease. The problem now is policing the country and stablizing it.
Exactly, which is why the war was a loss. We can't deal with all the ongoing prblems that we've created there.
We can't? I think we can and I think we will. I'm sure America can handle it, the only question is will the media and the politicians allow us to handle it.
How can we monitor a country which now has thousand of future terrorists living there constantly to ensure that the country remains stable? The insurgents are determined not to let a stable government form, and they will succeed.
They are determined and so are we, but we have more money and resources than they do.It's our will against ours and we just have to believe that we will win. It doesn't matter if they aren't going away, they are wrong and we are right. We have to stand up and stop them, even if it takes 5-10 years (which is probably will). We're in this mess and we have to get out of it.
I think they are alright. I have got to say though, they are selfish pussys that only care about votes and money. I am getting pretty mad at these guys, democrats and republicans. I am getting sick of this "politically correct" crap. These people are coming over our boarders and acting like they own America and our government is acting like they got rights, like it is ok they are here. I mean, there is a reason they are called illegal aliens. I know I am going off topic a little, but I am just using that as an example. Truman was really the only guy that had guts. I bet if we had any other president we wouldn't have dropped the A-Bomb on Japan. And at the time, Japan would have dropped it on us if they could've.
Talking about illegal immigrants isn't off topic, it has to do with the government so it's right on topic. I also think we're being too leniant there.

We didn't know if they had them at the time. Now we know they didn't, but couldn't have known. If Japan had the bombs, they wouldn't have thought twice about dropping it on us. Also, in the long run, it was suppose to save more lives by dropping the bomb. It also showed Russia we weren't affraid to drop it, because Stalin wasn't a guy that was affraid of hurting people and they had the bomb aswell.I mean, you have to remember, Japan had one of the best armies of the time. Why couldn't they have a A-Bomb? We didn't know they didn't untill the war was over.
I think they would have thought twice about dropping a bomb on us and waging war with the entire western world.
Japan wasn't to worried about death or fighting anyone. They had said, "We will fight to the last man, woman, and child." Which was another reason we dropped the bomb, they weren't affraid do fight unitll the last one. Their religion taught them that they were not to surrender. They had to kill themselves before they did so. When we were fighting them on the islands, they would hide in the caves. We would use our flame throwers to destroy the oxygen in the caves so that the Japanese would give up and come out. They killed themselves, none of them came out. When we were fighting them during the naval battles, they sent their pilots with TNT at us on a suicide missions to blow up our ships. When the war ended, they still had 2,000 people lined up to run those missions. The thing is they didn't have to do those missions, you volunteered to run those. If fighting the west ment not giving up, they would have done so.
Yes, but that doesn't mean they're going to commit suicide by forcing all the Allied nations to retalliate for dropping an atom bomb on the U.S. They still would have done what made sense strategically, and if they had done that to us then they would have almost certainly been obliterated in return.
