    Nelson vs. Wren kicks-off the quarter-finals.

    Nelson has an experience and grappling advantage but will have difficulty controlling the fight against a good GR wrestler in Wren.

    My money is on Wren.

    Close fight, I thought it coulda gone either way. Roy might not make it to the finals, I longer think it's a guaranteed thing. It'll depend on who he fights in the semis. Big Baby could knock him off, Schuab can probably beat him. Also this Kimbo teasing is becoming lame.

    I kind of thought that Nelson might edge out the first round because Wren's energy was wasted on looping punches that were only finding Nelson's gloves and arms. I don't agree with Dana that Nelson was taking much damage, he was just weathering the storm. By the end of the fight Nelson really seemed to be in control using pacing and more technical striking. Dunno why Wren didn't use take-downs for points but he was stuffed twice I think so maybe Nelson's TDD is just that good that he dissuaded him.

    Dana just hates Roy Nelson. His bashing of Roy is so damn annoying. He's bitching about Roy not making fights exciting, yet a good majority of the fighters that his company employs are fucking boring, too.

    It should have gone a 3rd round, but I can see why the judges gave Roy the decision. Wren blew his load in the first half of the first round.

    Also, it seems that even this far into the competition, there are still guys with no gas tank. Frustrating to watch. Wren is 22-years old and has no excuse for gassing out.

    Wren may have been somewhat gassed....but it looked to me as if Nelson was just making him miss. In the 2nd round, he seemed to have figured out Wren's timing.

    Of course, Dana would never say that...it would mean giving Nelson credit! :lol: Unless Nelson is boffing his mother/wife/daughter, Dana needs to reign in the hostility.

    Scott Junk was doing that body slide thing with Wren when Wren was warming up, is that a diss to Team Rampage? is he some sort of traitor now?

    earlier in the season didn't rashad want wren to fight junk but wren said that he and junk were friends and they'd prefer not to fight in the first round?

    Yea, I think so.
    I'd be surprized if anyone wasn't thinking that.
    Like I said before, I think Roy doesn't make it to the Finals. Roy is losing his next fight, I'm guessing to Schaub.

    I think the Semi-Finals will be Roy, Schaub, Brit, Marcus. Then Schaub beats Roy, Marcus beats the Brit.

    Then in the Finals Schaub beats Marcus.

    Although if Kimbo comes back to fight the Brit, hmmm might lean on Kimbo that one, McSweeney's cardio looked poor, while Kimbos seemed ok.

    i don't like mcsweeney but that he actually did a decent job as wren's "coach" besides him telling wren that he won the fight after both rounds. i don't understand what point that served. but he was loud as shit getting wren to get his hands back up any time he dropped them.

    Schuab is going to catch hell for cheating as much as he did. Jon has a legit complaint.

    Jon however is a boring SOB and I'm glad he isn't going to the semi's. Imagine him winning TUF? Yikes. Talk about worst case scenario.

    Schuab's knockout was good but his TDD and BJJ aren't anywhere near as good as they need to be right now, IMHO.

    So in two weeks we have a 2-hour episode with the remaining quarter-final fights as well as the semi-final fights. Great!

    James McSweeney vs. Matt Mitrione (probably)
    Marcus Jones vs. Darrill Schoonover
    Winner vs. Brendan Schuab
    Winner vs. Roy Nelson

    Should be a good way to finish-off the season.
