The ratings are down from the premiere from 1.5-million to 1.2-million.

It will be interesting to see how Spike tries to get that audience back.

Somebody explain WTF Brock was thinking matching his #1 guy up against JDS's #2 guy! What a bonehead coach he is turning out to be. Why not put Bentley in against Justin Edwards, the guy who had zero training as a late replacement, or one of the lower picks?

Also, predictably, going around calling his team chicken shit didn't exactly sit well. His attempt to explain that he's trying to turn nobodies into somebodies is a bit ridiculous as well but you can tell they are starting to tune him out anyway.

I thought the fight was great and very competitive. I was pretty surprised that paranoid Bentley lost considering I had him winning the first round with the second being even; judges tend to see their own version of the fight. It was close and both guys had their moments. Probably should've seen a third but they were tired and I don't know if it would've shown much--giving a fight to a guy because he was a sliver better in an overtime round isn't something I'm totally comfortable with yet.

At this point they might as well match these guys up randomly since neither coach can pick a fight.

Also it seems the language barrier is becoming an issue for Team DS. I think the wrestling coach is taking more leadership responsibility because JDS isn't really capable of expressing himself. He speaks English but it is very rudimentary and maybe he can't get finer technical points across. Or he is just a bit dim. Either way he should probably think about bringing in some of the experienced guys from Black House.

I thought the first round was even and Bentley lost the second, so I agreed with the judges.

So bored with this season already. They need to have 2 fights/episode to keep it interesting.

Yeah, I tried to get into this season but the fights are really bad, coaches aren't making this very interesting either.

    I'm enjoying the series.

-Loved the show where Ramsey had a fight. Thought DLS did a good job picking that fight.

-I've come to dislike some fighter and like others which is what I think the show wants you to do

-it is more exposure of Lesner than I have seen, and I have defintely been able to form a better opinion about Lesner (not very impressed)

-I've also come to like DLS more

-one guy wins a fight only to discover afterwards he has a compound fracture in his hand and a bone is sticking out of his pinky . . . what's not to like? :D

^ Yeah that is nasty, looks like he wins his fight and is eliminated from the show simultaneously.

I'm still perplexed by Team Lesnar's decision to put their top pick Len Bentley against Team dos Santos' second pick, the very experienced Ryan McGillivray. There were at least three much easier/more predictable fights for Bentley. Even if he gets the wild card spot (which he seems to be a frontrunner for at this point) he's going to have a tougher road to the finals. Plus his fighting style has been exposed to the other team.

The formula for the show is so simple--forgo the first fighter pick and get the first fight pick, put your top guy against their last pick, get your top four guys through in the same fashion, hope your lower ranked guys can get an upset or two, and try to nab at least three of the quarter-final spots.

I agreee with that strategy and it seems obvious. At least get your top 3 through with warm up fight where they are likely to get through uninjured too.

I watch the show knowing much less about the people and the sport than you. But here are a few more of my takes:

-I thought Lesner was trying to set up Len with an easy fight. I didn't realize that was DLS 2nd pick. Watching it, the editing made it sound like an easy win for Len and I assumed Lesner was doing the same thing DLS did with his first pick. So I saw it as a huge upset (made for good TV). Even more surprised Lesner sets his #1 up with other #2 and doesn't even watch the fight (not even the tape).

-I loved DLS picking Ramsey against Charlie. Wasn't Charlie a 2nd pick and Ramsey a low pick? TV made it look like DLS had a plan for Ramsey from the get go to keep the pressure on and lean on him the whole fight. To me, it seemed like DLS picked an upset match up based on styles (but I don't know where either was selected).

-What do you think of Ramsey. TV makes him look like a clown and then it goes into the ring and is tenatious. Is he a contender to win this?

-Len rubs me the wrong way. Not a fan of Lesner, but at least I respect the guy. Len is giving him no respect . . . and I don't think he has the game to back up his attitude

-When are Lesner and DLS going to exchange words?

The fights were good this week.

Len Bentley had the best case of anyone to get a wild card spot but sold himself short. He should know if you want that spot you have to jump up and down for it.

Lew Polley becomes the second coach fired from TUF (after Tito). Strange considering he did everything that was asked of him. He was essentially fired for doing too much. On his blog, Polley claims he was fired because when JDS's coaches came onto the show late (having been training Anderson Silva for Vitor Belfort), they muscled him out. Polley's managed by Ed Soares who hooked him up with the job and it seems neither Polley or Soares could really explain why he was pushed off the show.

Is there any doubt that Bentley vs. O'Neil would've been a better fight?

Torres' skill-set is pretty limited. For a former boxer his boxing is mediocre. He is a wall-and-stall fighter for some reason. His first fight was pretty much the same deal as his second.

Bentley should feel a little hard done by but he only has himself to blame for expecting to get the wild card spot rather than campaigning for it.

The coaches challenge was fun. Lesnar has to be a little ashamed that he lost a football competition considering his interest and near-success in the sport.

Good to see we're picking up the pace with the quarter-final fights doing two per episode. Wonder when the by-week is?

The way Nijem tore through Harvison last night was reminiscent of Jonathan Brookins' run last season. Wins don't get much easier than that.

Bailey/Cope wasn't a great fight, either. Bailey has only one dimension and Cope was really only interested in defence. Don't expect much from him in the semi's.

Also the "Tony Ferguson loses it" storyline for the next episode looks put on. When you see Ferguson tackle Rader at the end they are both joking around.
