QUOTE (such sweet thunder)

I always thought TB1 was Denny Crane. . . goes to show you. Speaking of TB1?

I take it as a complement. I used to go by ... DaBullz
I must say it is really terrific to see you and many others here, who I've posted alongside over the past 5+ years. This place really has a lot of interesting things going for it, but mostly the people. While we were over here building up the site, I found the people who've been here all along and who've joined over the past few months to be just terrific and a very nice change from posting with the familiar folks at the other site. S2 has an interesting way of putting people together in threads who'd otherwise not even know about each other.
The NFL-Forums.com guys were the first to be merged into S2, and they've turned out to be downright good fellows, each and every one. The DYC guys have made for terrific football (soccer) threads as well as being interesting people to get to know in the OT and other threads. The JBB guys post all over the place, and are some of the better writers I've seen on message boards. I highly recommend CB32's Celtics blog, one of my favorite features on the site.
The Admins and other staff we've added really bring the place a lot of unique style, as well.
As for TB#1, I heard he's now a mod at Real Eee Hem (as he called it). Good for him, but I've never been a fan of that site.

We've had some major problems between Heat fans and Nets fans in the past, and it's best that this doesn't get off to a bad start the second this thread is created. The Nets forum has their thread, and the Heat forum has theirs. That's not to say that Nets fans aren't welcome here - they are. Just bear in mind that what's acceptable in the Nets forum might not be acceptable in the Heat forum. This is just a general warning to everyone. Baiting from Heat fans will also not be tolerated. Now let's get ready for a great game! If you have any questions, PM me. So why would you sell the site to people you couldn't get along with? Was that basically admitting the sale was a mistake?
Why would you put in so much time and energy building up a board only to build a competitor and then ditch your project?

From our POV, we had grown BBB.net as big as we could without some sort of real investment. We outgrew 2 progressively bigger servers in about the first year I was admin, and there was no real sign of us getting the next biggest server (or configuration of servers) as we were going. VScope offered enough to convince us they had a real interest in the site's success going forward, as well as certain promises that we felt were also in the board's best interests. From their POV, they may have lived up to their promises - I won't quibble over it, what's done is done and they are at where they are at.
I wouldn't say we didn't get along with the VScope people, in fact I'd say they're a bunch of good guys. We had no intention of ditching the site, or we wouldn't have stayed on as admins. Now our interests aren't aligned anymore, and it's time to go our separate ways.
In the mean time, we have S2 and lots of hard work going into it as I write this. You won't find a site with more dedicated staff, from us Admins on down to the moderators. And a great group of posters, as well.
(Your username isn't appreciated, you want it changed?)

You can change my name, I'm not fully sure if I want to stick around though so it might be pointless... I just kind of needed some closure outside of what the VS guys are saying. Change it to kwamebsucks.
I'm not interested in the exact details, but I understood the financial needs to merge with VS, and like many others I'm sure I had faith that our leadership would not be affected by the sale. Basically when the first two admins dropped out I believed they were flukes and isolated incidents, but now I feel betrayed.
So basically, what do you plan on doing if this site outgrows its servers? I'm not really sure what the setup is here, outside of it morphing somehow from hunterb's old site. Needless to say you will make sure if someone picks up the finances a relationship will more firmly be estabilished before moving forward?
